Laurence O'Donnel is a f*ing asshat |
|
Listening to him on Air America right now. If he is not saying that liberal is wrong, then he is say that we should all be disheartened.
He is an Asshat!

1. He sounds scared. Typical. Now that we are in power we are afraid of losing |
|
it. When we are not in power we are afraid to speak up.
FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!

It's one bad quote in a thousand. He's been all over the cable news shows and he always kicks Repuke butt.
Larry O'Donnell, not an asshat.

11. Because Laurence O'Donnel Is A Great Democrat... |
|
He was Pat Moynihan's Chief Of Staff... He consistently takes the Democratic line because he said something you don't like he's become a nincompoop or "asshat."

17. Sorry, but I am SO FED UP with defeatist statements |
|
He was being very defeatest (see my other posts in this topic) to me. I had NO IDEA of any of his background. Just caught the program and heard him. Sounded like Repug talking points light. Like a troll would say.
Anyway. That is how I reacted. I cannot take it back.

|
In my mind that makes him an asshat.
Also, the enemy of my enemies is NOT my fried by definition. They need to actually be my friend.
He is not my friend as a Liberal, a Democrat, and a DUer.

Please listen to what he said. I was kinda "piled on" here and am only trying to respond to everything.
To me he was echoing the same talking points I heard all week about the "fact" that Dems won only because of those who are on the fence and will vote the other way if Dems try to do anything not to the right of center. I am sick of it. So sick of it.
This guy may be a firebrand when it comes to "tearing" Repugs "a new one", that does not mean he has much in common with DU and liberal values and truth.

14. Politically Direct with David Bender |
|
I do not have quotes (YET) as it is not on the web site. Hope to later.
My take was that he was saying:
1. It would be very dangerous and misguided to think that the change in the House was related in any way to "left wing" (his words, I think) policies or candidates.
2. Democrats cannot make significant (his word was more like drastic) changes, and need to stay to the center and right of center, if they are to hold onto the districts that shifted
3. He was very disappointed in Nancy Pelosi in terms of both her recommendation of Mertha (old RW talking point) and her (accoding to him) left wing intentions.
OK, this is a WEAK paraphrase. Listen to the recording.
In my mind, he is an asshat.

He let it ride in many ways. Maybe out of respect, or an understanding that I do not have (since I did not know much about the guy). But, as you can tell, it PISSED ME OFF. Too many people are echoing Repug light that we cannot be stong. I HATE IT.

13. I Saw Him On Another Show... |
|
He said if the Dems have the same ethical lapses as the GOPU they will lose their majority...
He also said it would be a big mistake to make Alcee Hastings Chairman of the Intelligence Committe...I'm torn about that but Hastings was impeached as a judge for bribery and the person heading the impeachment was none other than John Conyers...The vote was 399-3 in the House!!! and 66-13 in the Senate...

I do feel VERY dogpiled on.
Hell, I basically ran the campaign office (as best I could while still working full time) down here Northeast Bexar County (San Antonio, Texas). Just ask.
My favorite candidate lost badly though (my avatar is his campaign graphic). And my second favorite, David Van Os.
Anyway, thanks for the thought.
I am strong enough to keep at it.

But listen to this evening also, please! Just becuase he is a great snarling dog against the Repugs does not make him our ally.
I have no idea about him except for what I heard tonight (like I said in my other posts here). However, most of the responses supporting him feel to me like "he hurts those we hate so he must be ok." I do not subscribe to that theory. So, now back to you, listen to what he said tonight and tell me I am wrong.

He's an intelligent debater and a solid defender on the Left on the McLaughlin Group. I suggest you watch it (Fridays on PBS) and get back to me afterwards.

You note that I already said that it was "off the cuff." No need to pound it into the ground. I will listen and watch on Friday.
However, I will say up front that "a solid defender of the Left on the McLaughlin Group" sounds like a solid defender of human rights in the Bush Admin.
