This afternoon at the mailbox, I received a third credit card solicitation on behalf of Bank of America addressed to our 8 year old daughter. As per usual, we went through the process of contacting the state Attorney General's office, the FCC and the credit card company, with the same canned speech that everything is being done in order to protect the information of our daughter, and that "...no further solicitation or third party solicitation will continue 30 days beyond receipt of this conversation."
Well excuse me for being short with you, however it is CLEARLY apparent that our daughter's information is being sold, transferred, sold again, transferred, etc. by you slimeballs! Great, I've created a dead lead with Bank of America, however, in this 30-day window of opportunity to the credit card companies, it allows her name to be sold again, and another solicitation to arrive at our mailbox, but because it wasn't "XYZ" this time, they are clear of any legal ramifications, so they'll pass the information and the process begins all over again.
This is disappointing on so many levels. The fact that social security information is clearly presented on these applications, which in the "pre-qualification" stage, should be eliminated on age alone. Secondly that the credit card issuer(s) are so desperate to extend credit, that they turn blind eyes to whom they send applications to, including minors, with personal information within.
I'm so frustrated with this, yet beyond the ability to actually afford to take legal action.
*sigh*
Anyone have experience dealing with this that they might be willing to share?
THANKS, DU!
