Is committing adultery a prerequisite to becoming the Republican
presidential nominee?

McCain, Giuliani, Gingrich, and now Tommy Thompson wants to throw his hat into the ring. (There were many rumors here in Wisconsin that Tommy had women on the side all the time he was governor).

To be fair, I don't know enough about Duncan Hunter, and I'm guessing that Mitt was able to keep his pants zipped up.

6. Committing adultery is a prerequisite to nothing
except having a good time. Personally, I don't see what this has to do with politics, presidential or otherwise. I wonder if monogamy is even necessarily central to K selected populations* such as humans. I don't feel it matters whom people sleep with as long as they get the societal job done with due respect for democratic principles. All the rest is bullshit.

*The alternatives of producing many offspring with little parental care or few offspring with greater parental care are among properties often ascribed to differences between what are called r and K selection strategies. In organisms such as bacteria and plant weeds that tend to exhibit rapid populational growth in facing wildly fluctuating environmental challenges and opportunities, reproductive emphasis is placed on a rapid rate of increase (r), and individuals in such populations are therefore considered to be r-selected. As stated by Darwin, "a large number of eggs is of some importance to those species which depend upon a fluctuating amount of food, for it allows them rapidly to increase in numbers." Other organisms, such as large vertebrates, face more uniform or predictable environments with population sizes that are close to the environmental carrying capacity K. In these K-selected organisms there is density-dependent competition for food, nesting space, and other resources, thus providing selective advantages that lead to increased efficiency in the utilization of resources as well as insuring that offspring are raised to the stage when they can compete themselves.

In short, as long as you take care of the kids, I'm not sure it matters, from a purely biological standpoint at least, who you fuck.

Just thought you'd like to know.

I just got off the phone with former congressman and talk show host Bob Dornan, who is considering. . . a run for President.

“I can’t stand the thought of my party having as its three front-runners three open adulterers, Newt Gingrich, Giuliani, and McCain,” Dornan said.
