4. Polls and the NY Times seem to disagree
http://www.nytimes.com/cq/2006/11/15/cq_1948.html

Watch for endorsements:

Shepherd, who came in third on Nov. 7 with 18 percent of the vote, said he would announce his endorsement by the end of this week. He confirmed a meeting Monday with other Jefferson Parish officials, but said his decision will only come with a few of them; others have declined to support anyone.

Republican lawyer Joe Lavigne, who came in fourth with 13 percent of the vote Nov. 7, is also considering an endorsement, spokesman Rodney Abele said, but it’s unclear when his decision may come.

One of the louder “whispers” concerning the runoff is that there could be a number of people who support Jefferson, in anticipation that he might be indicted and step down, setting the stage for a special election in which they could compete.

10. I remember when people said the same thing about the Webb/Allen race
"Allen won't be voted out... blah blah blah."

Giving to her is FAR from a waste of money.

12. Please tell me that Karen Carter is squeaky clean
and will win in a landslide. Squeaky clean is a lot to hope for in New Orleans but I still have hope nonetheless.
