Monsters enter city, tearing women and children into pieces
Heavily armed alien fighters - automatons with little free will, under the command of monsters who stay sheltered in distant castles - have been sent into a city and slaughtered dozens in one spasm of bloodletting.

Humans seem unable to stop them.

Rationality and reason are totally irrelevant to them. When asked why, they give one explanation one day, another the next and a different "answer" every time, or they just rattle off a string of gibberish. Facts, to them, don't matter at all. They seem completely unable to recognize or even describe reality.

And compassion is completely absent. Their thirst for blood and pain seems insatiable, and the orgy of destruction continues unabated.

They claim they will stop only when they are finished, but nobody can figure out what they want, other than more blood, more maiming, more suffering. Maybe at some point they will become sated, but there is no sign of that every happening. Maybe they will simply creak to a stop as they wear out their gear and destroy their battlebots, and deplete the resources they draw on to sustain their butchery. Maybe they will begin eating each other.

2. That is not profit.
That is theft, to use the most polite term possible. War is rape and murder and pillage, and it is organized crime in its most extreme and brutal form.

3. Adding the link to the Washington Post story

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A U.S. fighter jet bombed a crowd gathered around a burned Humvee on the edge of a provincial capital in western Iraq, killing 25 people, including 18 children, hospital officials and family members said Monday. The military said the Sunday raid targeted insurgents planting a bomb for new attacks.

In all, residents and hospital workers said, 39 civilians and at least 13 armed insurgents were killed in a day of U.S. airstrikes in Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province, a Sunni Arab region with a heavy insurgent presence.

The U.S. military said it killed a total of 70 insurgents in Sunday's airstrikes and, in a statement, said it knew of no civilian deaths.

At Ramadi hospital, distraught and grieving families fought over body parts severed by the airstrikes, staking rival claims to what they believed to be pieces of their loved ones.

Of course that was a year ago. But the monsters have returned again, with the same results:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BAGHDAD — A U.S. airstrike in the restive town of Ramadi killed at least 30 people, including women and children, witnesses said Tuesday.

The aerial attack, which took place late Monday, brought the number of violent deaths reported in Iraq on Tuesday to at least 91, according to military sources and witnesses.

Dr. Barakt Mansi, a Ramadi physician, said many of the bodies arriving at the city's morgue Monday night and Tuesday morning were shattered and charred. Another physician, who identified himself only as Dr. Kamal, said some died because of delays created by American roadblocks and heavy fighting.
