an endrun around the Iraq study group." Perhaps not. My guess it is an attempt to find out how much stuff they need to bury before the proverbial doodoo hits the fan. It's CYA time, folks.

5. If Tony Snow says so,
it has to be true. Especially if he said it on tv.

2. It's not?
Well, THAT's certainly good news... I was worried there for a while...

(overheard in the press room at the White House sometime soon)
oh, what's that you say? Some preliminary results are being leaked now? How fortuitous... while the lame duck session is still going. well, you know, I'm SURE we would have liked to wait until the new congress starts work, but, well, now that the cat's out of the bag... and you understand, we are simply LISTENING to what the generals ON THE GROUND are saying... and, well, the violence level HAS been decreasing since August, that's what Abaziad says, honest. So we won't stay the course, we've never been about stay the course, ya know... anyway, we only need an additional 20,000 troops and one year, and once the troops are transfered in or rotations canceled or brigades recalled for a forth or fifth tour... well, anyway, the new Congress won't dare de fund the winning strategy... so we get the approval for the increased troops from the current congress and then we can COMPLETE THE MISSION in the next year... for sure. And if it doesn't go well, then we blame the Democrats for not supporting this plan 100 percent. Besides, we know it will go well, at least well enough to still have a forces in the area when the showdown with Iran really happens (damn bastards didn't fall for all of our recent fleet operations off their coastline so we will have to think of something else now). All that matters now is that we leave a legacy of defeating Islamo-liberal-fascism.. oh did I stick a liberal in there? How silly of me, we have detention camps for those types - hahahahaha. Gulp!

(this was an imaginary conversation that Snowjob will have with a sycophant MSM member... it is full of irony and is meant to be :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: by me, lapfog)

3. of course it's an end run
for better or worse - the Baker-Hamilton study has been going on for 8 months

this bush group is being given 1 month to do the same stuff

reinventing the wheel or looking to massage the data? any bets which "study" bush will approve?

meanwhile in the background -- the creeping feeling there is an internal battle going on between cheney-bots and baker-poppy-bots is growing. me thinks cheney is the one behind the 'new study'
