Foreclosures piling up with family debt



How about that strong economy they keep saying we have???

Tammy Garrison nearly lost her childhood home to a sheriff's sale Wednesday, but a postponement gave her a month's reprieve.

The lender foreclosed on this Lower Township home last fall. Garrison said her mother suffered a disabling injury and could not work.

“My father built this house. I grew up here. It is extremely important to me,” she said.

His office has sold 114 Cape May County properties at auction through November compared with 95 all of last year and 91 in 2004. Ocean County, too, has seen more auctions: 150 so far compared with just 99 in all of 2005.

2. The stupid bankruptcy laws need to change NOW
It'll be too late for me, but everyone else will benefit from laws that favor the little guy, not giant evil corporations.
