3. If these people actually watched TDS, they'd see that

Jon Stewart is critical of Democrats when they deserve it and not only has right wing guests but treats them with as much respect as Dems. The idea that only young people watch TDS is wrong, as is the idea that TDS converts people to progressivism. Ultraconservatives who watched the show would simply disagree with anything favoring progressives

6. It's A Father-Son Ritual Here Now...

We watch the show every night and through it, my son has become aware of a lot of the issues of the day and voted last week for the change we all were glad to see.

I'm no kid...I've seen and heard the best satyrists from Lenny Bruce and David Frost in the 60's, George Carlin in the 70's , SNL of the 70's & 80s to Bill Hicks and now Lewis Black amd Bill Mahrer...but none, none, come close to John Stewart and Stephen Colbert in their ability to see the irony and spin it on its head.

What Stewart's detractors don't want to realize is that satire works on irony and hypocrisy, and there's just so much of it in this regime and its Repugnican enablers there little left for picking on Democrats.

I find it amusing that Joey Scarborough features so much TDS and Colbert Report on his nightly treehouse. He'll make a comment now and then that's negative, but generally Joey's laughing with the rest of us.
