2. I don't know if Alter said it, but that's flat wrong
The ABSCAM tapes have always been out there. They were not released to anyone.

They were on the internet long before the majority leader race developed.

to Alter and Murtha.

9. Alter gets LOTS of info wrong. He still spreads the McCain camp lie that he was asked
by Kerry to be VP - that rumor started in McCain camp to influence a better treatment deal for McCain with GOP and Rove. It also makes McCain appear to be more moderate when he's nothing but a Bush shill.

Alter is a HUGE disappointment - he was sick during a stretch and got his info secondhand without ever bothering to play catch up with the real facts. He is also a McCain fan who tends to take everything he says at face value.

Bad for a journalist.

5. Yes. Murtha alluded to that on Hardball yesterday, despite
those claiming CREW released it. Maybe CREW got it from Hoyer's minions?

FBI released them ages ago. If you search you can probably find video of the ones that did take the money too. As to who released them, there were accusations but last I heard no one knew for sure. Could of been someone from the repukes for all I know. Just like everything else the media has to blow this up into a big problem for the dems when it is just normal procedure when the repukes go through the same thing. Compare the coverage now to the coverage when there was the fight to take Delay's place.

Edited to add: After a quick google search on ABSCAM tapes seems the right has been viewing this tape for a while. Some have been directing people to it since Sep. Looks more like something the repukes dug up to use to try to get Murtha's seat. Even a lazy so called journalist would of had no problem finding it to play for a national audience.

10. Where Did he Get It
I think the democrats better shut up about this and get on with their business. I for one did not care who won, as long as the second in command of the house WAS A DEMOCRAT....

And I can't understand if Hoyer released the video, where did he get it. I know it was shown twenty years ago, but why would Hoyer make a copy of something twenty years back. Are you sure this is not sour grapes.

I wish the democrats could pull together. For whatever reason the house voted for Hoyer and now they should put it behind them and go on.
