The decision is made and we should unite behind the leadership team
Pelosi and Hoyer. I wanted Murtha but it didn't happen. Hoyer has been part of the leadership team as Minority Whip. Pelosi put her prestige on the line and came up short. Now the media will begin to carp about her lack of clout among Democrats and about infighting among Democrats and try to give a PR victory to the GOP. It's Pelosi and Hoyer and I want them to succeed.

1. I second that motion
and will nominate for greatest page.

Let's get real and start talking about minimum wage and health care that can be achievable by everyone regardless of income.

2. Hoyer is a good man
I know someone who used to work for him and lives in Maryland. He's a good Congressman.

5. Look I accept them as having won their positions but for the sake of unity
I am not going to give up my liberty to disagree with them, and I surely am not going to surrender my First Amendment Right to send appeals and petitions to them to vote in a manner that I feel is right.

We need to get with the program the Founders set forward not a canard about the base marching lockstep behind the party leaders. WE ARE NOT EXPECTED TO AGREE WITH OUR GOVERNMENT. We are invited to tell them what we think. And that is going to result in our disagreeing with our representatives and Congressional leaders some of the time even if they are in our party. That's not a bad thing; that's a good thing.

6. No one is asking you to give up your voice.
Let's let them get started first though. Then disagree if you feel the need to.

10. Not for unity, but perhaps for the sake of reasonableness.
It seems illogical to complain about someone's leadership until that person does something as leadership.

It's also illogical to at the same time believe in a democratic process and not accept the outcomes of it.

Unity within the party behind leaders or causes is a condition that should result from free choice. Even at the outset, doubt and reservation of some leader based on that person's past statements, actions, affiliations, or mysteries is OK. If that uncertainty is honest it seems to me a fair basis of argument for a person to withold support even at the start.

Accepting that, as I do, it's my expectation that most DU'ers accept the elected leadership but that there will not necessarily be unity in support of them.

7. The party just elected them and they haven't even taken their
positions yet. Let's give them a chance.

9. Agree, and next: Bipartisanship (haiku)
Framing the debate.
It is time to refocus.
This is a new game.

Now is the time to
take a giant step sideways:
bipartisanship.

The citizens spoke:
Morning in America.
It’s our turn to try.

Citizen R. King
Said, “Can’t we just get along?”
We must rise above.

Our window is brief.
Legislate, investigate.
Action and justice.

Not a sprint, but a
millennium marathon.
Time is a’ wasting.

12. There is no lack of clout when you are chosen Speaker by unanimous vote.
I really really dislike Hoyer. He makes my "corporate pig" red flags go up. But I'm thinking Pelosi and Hoyer will set aside their differences for the good of this country and set a new course in a positive direction.

Any so-called divisiveness among Dems is proof that Dems speak with their own voices, they are not an echo chamber like the GOP.
