Time for some lemonaide, folks! |
|
Hoyer won. I was for Murtha, but it didn't happen. Either way, WE won!!! The Democrats are in the Majority!
Now for the lemonaide: Hoyer's coordinated attack campaign demonstrates his ability to put up a hard fight. This is exactly what's needed against the RW, Bushetals, and Republican ideologues.
It's going to be a very tough, knock-down drag out over the next two years. So, congratulations, Steny! We're behind you, Nancy, Clyburn and all the rest of Democrats 100% in leading the fight!
Now, let's get to work!

8. Give Nancy some credit |
|
I don't think she's going to stand for it. She's made public pledges and is fully aware of the HUGE responsibility of her position on so many levels.
Until I start to see some evidence of your charges, I'm getting behind Hoyer.

and reverse the damage that has been done to our civil liberties and the constitution of this country.. if they continue to play "let's go along to get along"... I'll personally work my hardest to elect the next Repuke president.. then I'll leave the country.

Crowley is a Reagan-is-God staffer and AB Stoddard seems to have been schooled at the Conservative Journalism School in DC. UGH!

7. His coordinate attack campaign against Murtha telles ME |
|
the man has no honor. He'll do anything for power. Sound familiar? We've just lived 6 years of that....it should sound familiar.
Hoyer REFUSED to sign onto Murtha's Redeployment Resolution. What's that tell you?

He says that, but these people are so good at saying one thing and doing another. I'll wait and see what he does.

18. That's not lemonade... that's koolaid you're drinking... |
|
This was a major loss to the anti-war effort and to the Democratic party.
Oh well, all we can do now is watch and hope it changes.

21. Nope, I know that you were making lemonade out of lemons... |
|
But maybe you missed mine. Hoyer isn't just a lemon, he has that refreshing koolaid flavor about him. So far as Iraq is concerned.

22. It's wasn't a Hoyer is a lemon |
|
It was the situation that there were two choices with public campaigning about it that was the lemon. Some wanted Hoyer, some Murtha, others wanted a third (un-named) candidate.
As far as the rest, I haven't drank any kookaide. Don't know if you saw the press conference, but what I saw demonstrated was unity.
A couple of things to note about Hoyer's comments: 1) He stepped up and took the microphone when reporters asked about running against Pelosi as Leader. (paraphrased) "I just want to say something about that. Nancy and I did not run against each other. She ran for Leader and I ran for Leader. Nancy prevailed." 2) He made a clear, concise call that "it is time to redeploy our troops out of Iraq."
So, yes. We'll have to watch what they do and hold their feet to the fire it's what they've said. But, dammit!!! We've worked too damned hard to get where we are! I'm getting behind them and plan to keep them to their word.
(Sorry, getting a little frustrated with all of the skepticism).

|
conference? Nancy's smile looked forced, not her usual one. She just took a big hit. Hopefully, we all move on and she recovers from this misstep. Hopefully all Dems get united around a message of "out of Iraq - now". Hopefully.
