Impeachment Expert: "Don't worry about Dean and Pelosi"
John Nichols wrote the book "The Genius of Impeachment"

on this Ring of Fire interview, he says impeachment is a process and we should not worry about what Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi are saying at this point of the game. he also says that in his opinion they should be impeached.

2. Thanks garybeck, I agree that we need to give the process time
and not get caught up in the current conversation suggesting it won't happen.

3. Investigations Will Make The Case...
We only have the substance of illegalities here...come January, the Democrats gain subpoena power and then we can really start to find out the extent. Waxman will be busy unraveling the no-bid contracts and the massive fleecing by KBR and others...war profiteering at an unprecendented level. Others will go ahead in looking into the warantless wiretapping and data mining as well as the violations of FISA laws. Then there's the ever brewing Abramoff, Wade and other scandals that still have a ways to go...and, did I forget Scotter's trial begins early next year as well.

Impeachment is a political, not a legal act. The crimes committed here are easily wiped away by the political...as we saw with Nixon. While seeing this regime tried through the legislative may feel good, it impedes true justice and will let others slip away as the rush to get booosh turns into a media circus and further divides the country. Let the investigations bring the crimes to light...make it an issue in the '08 campaign and then let the legal system do the real justice here.

4. agreed - impeachment is a process
no one in their right mind expects this to happen right out of the box - but investigations and subpeonas have been promised on a number of issues. Watch how this plays out - we are now watching a momentous occasion in American history. Impeachment might not be on the table now, they've got their hands full with trying to bring us back from the brink, but in due course and time, we will see where everything leads. Let's not get the cart before the horse.

btw - I believe we should impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney but it should be done properly and not over some damn thing that has nothing to do with the governing of this country.

5. I agree. Our impeachment hawks should be patient...
... and let the process play itself out.
