What will we have to do before Republicans realize they
no longer have absolute power? Maybe it's just me, but it seems like they're doing the same old things they've always done, despite the electoral veto to their agenda. What will it take to make the message of the American people sink into their thick heads and get them to change course?

2. Pass some sensible laws?
Confirm the appointment of some decent people as judges or ambassadors?

Wait till the investigations start hitting the White House, they'll feel powerless enough then.

3. Ignore them long enough, they'll figure it out.
All we have to do is do what's best for the country and the world. The Republicans can be part of that if they are willing to work with us. Otherwise, they can watch us handle it without their input.

Sooner or later, they'll figure it out.

4. Yesterday Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan showed them the path
The two ND Senators shut down the Senate for the entire day. The Repukes refused to allow a vote on a reconciliation bill (amendment for emergency drought relief for farmers) which had previously passed the Senate with a 77 vote super majority.

That tooks some guts, but they held their ground until Repukes agreed to allow it to vote. We'll see, maybe later today, whether the Repukes will go back on their word a second time. If that happens, there's no doubt that Conrad and Dorgan will stick a monkey wrench back into the works again.

5. What do we have to do?
Just wait till January. I promise, it will start to sink in. }(
