THIS GUY? Wats To Run For President???

Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson speaks at the White House in this 2001 file photo. Thompson said Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 that he intends to form a committee to explore a possible run for the White House in 2008. (AP Photos/J. Scott Applewhite, FILE)

But then again, I laughed when bush ran too......

1. You Never Know...
With Giuliani and McCain as two of the leading candidates, the GOP base may be looking for someone with TT's outlook on the world.

5. Enjoy "Tax and Spend" Tommy. He's a RINO.
He was hard to get rid of as governor, because he rode a Harley and was outspoken. Apparently we like that here.

But when he doesn't have a Staypuft Marshmellow Man look on his face, he often looks to me like he's about to burp. Kind of like Bill O'Reilly.

My former Governor,

Doesn't have a grey hair on his head!

Isn't it amazing how many elderly politicians have absolutely no grey hair these days!

under his picture, it must go back 2 years, anyhow it was a pic of him at a press conference and he was pointing at a reporter and the caption read--"shoe polish, next question" i swear to god i still laugh at that every time i see his picture.

23. Oh, this is going to be fun.
So *that's* why he didn't run against Kohl this year... he has his eye on the big prize.

Yeah, he seems laughable, but remember, he was governor of Wisconsin for 14 years... that includes three election cycles where Wisconsin went for the Democratic candidate for President and eight years in which Wisconsin had two Democratic senators and a Democratic Attorney General (now governor).

He has 14 years experience as governor and served for four years as Secretary of Health and Human Services under Bush. He's not tied to the Iraq fiasco and he may have gotten out in time to avoid being tarred with Katrina.

In other words, this guy knows how to win, and he could potentially flip a crucial swing state that has gone our way in recent years (Wisconsin).

Do NOT under-estimate him.

28. Don't be too quick to dismiss him
1) He's a governor, governors run strong in presidential races

2) He's a Republican, which means if he wins the nom he'll have a serious wad of cash

3) The conservative media would spin a ham sandwich into a war hero if the sandwich were the GOP candidate

True, his goofy looks and northern origins would be liabilities for today's GOP, but all that means right now is he probably won't win the primary.
