I just read an interesting thread by seabeyond discribing how so many in America believe that a nuclear end is near or Apocolypse is upon us and it hit the nail on the head.

In history, wide-sread panic and FEAR is generally the atmosphere ANY totalitarian regime creates to facilitate complete takeover. Oppressive laws flourish when fear runs rampant. What is the deep, profound solution? I mean, DUH! The public might simply pause, think a minute and stop acting like silly geese, although the sky is falling at the WHITE HOUSE and one other place....



Now can we just get back to the REAL issues at hand?

It's pretty appalling. I think people can be appalled at police brutality, not succumb to abject fear, and talk about/protest the war simultaneously.

with 24K outrage plastered ALL over to OP! Still, too much of that sort of thing is problematic... people will always rubber-neck at gore... it's human nature... I may be wrong but we might see a RADICAL increase in OPs to make us fearful in upcoming months and it doesn't mean the ones posting them are trolls.

I came across the video elsewhere and watched it several times over the course of a week as well I sent it out to folks around the US. One of the more riveting and emotive videos I've come across. Hopefully it will spur people on to engage in direct action to stop the war. Nothing else will stop the everyday apocalypse in Iraq.

I can't keep up anymore . I have lost track of the numbers , I have forgotten how to count.
My mind is saturated with figures in the hundreds, thousands ....
I am not even capable of sentences . I just have words zooming in my mind as fast as light
Death squads, killings , kidnapping, abductions , fleeing ,exodus , desertions,torture, disappearances,funerals ...
I can't even look or see only to have flashes , images pop up , blinding me in their intensity.
Hooded heads ,rape , sodomy , bullet holes, debris, rubbles , ruins , acid, drills in skulls, eyes plucked out, bruises, chains, blood, torn flesh, bowels , brains, ears cut off ,genitals electrocuted and hacked ...
And every time I try to inhale , I can only smell burnt flesh , excrements, fumes, dust, sewage, decomposing bodies, rotting corpses...
I can't even listen without hearing sounds of explosions , shootings, bombs , mortar attacks, cries, lamentations, wailing, screeches of agony and screams of pain ...
And everytime I try to swallow , there is that sharp bitter caustic taste in my mouth that consumes me like Fire .
There is nothing but Death , Destruction and Grief around me .
