Randi Rhodes - KQKE SF bay area progressive station |
|
(I know, another thread on this? yes)
Hey all you quakers, has the station been running the same Randi show all week this week? Or have I been listening to her for too long and now they all just sound the same?
Anyone know the scoop?

1. When do they play her? |
|
It's a wonder they play her show at all. For the first 12 hours of programming, only two of those hours are AAR. I love Momma, but I'd really like to hear Franken and Randi live. Who needs their Progressive News Hour? When I listened to it in the morning, I didn't hear any news. I wish to hell AAR would find another affiliate around here.

It looks like my theory is correct (thrown to the curb and pushed under the bus) on Randi vis-a-vis KQKE aka Clear Channel.
But, hey, who the fvck is listening to AM radio from 9-11PM except for weirdos and malcontents? She's in that spot precisely for that reason - they want to get her off the air out here.
Randi has been dealt a dirty deal by KQKE. Someone doesn't like her, obviously, and is doing everything s/he can to make sure she is not getting heard here.
Once again, I plead with you Bay Area DUers, if you care about this at all, contact Bob Agnew, the program manager at KQKE. Don't let him stonewall you with his BS about how Ed Schultz gets such bigger ratings than Randi. It ain't true, it was never true, and the only way it WILL be true is if KQKE keeps airing repeat shows and old shows in a time slot where no one is listening to AM radio.

Randi was the first progressive voice that we heard on KQKE. Do not let these dirty dealers get away with showing you the Shiny Keys (Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Mike Malloy) and distracting you from the fact that one of the finest voices in progressive radio is being silenced in one of the most influential progressive markets in the nation.
Please help Randi. This is SO wrong.
PS, well lookie here, I found a bidness card in my purse from the Steph Meet & Greet. Here's the email of an account manager at KQKE. Maybe getting serious with the ad salespeople about Randi may help also.

on edit: please understand that I LOVE Steph, Thom and Mike. Randi introduced me to Thom and Mike as guest hosts on her show. I'm just so pissed at the "be grateful for what we gave you" attitude that the ppl at KQKE seem to have. The truth is that Randi used to be the high point of their programming. So they ditched boring Willie Brown droning on about his star-studded life, and they ditched sometimes-downright-unappealing Al Franken droning on because that's what he does. As they used to say in the Pacific Northwest, BFDRF.

4. Yes, I've noticed this week, 3 nights in a row the same show. |
|
I can't find any info on it... bizarre.
