Snake-in-the-grass-Steny Hoyer and the PR Problem that exists |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 04:49 PM by texpatriot2004
now. Why? Because they control the media and when they control all the channels then they control all the "truth." Agree or disagree, it doesn't matter. This is a PR problem now that will have to be handled. It sucks. It makes Madam Speaker look badly, or at least that's the spin they will put on it. I am not happy about it but I think it's a fact now. It doesn't mean I agree or that I think it's right, but it is what it is.
I wanted to add that just for the record, I admire Nancy Pelosi and I am thrilled that she is now Madam Speaker. I am certain she knows what she's doing; hell, maybe she even anticipated this for all I know.
Still, it doesn't look good from a PR point of view.

1. You know, I wasn't real thrilled this morning, either. |

HOWEVER...like you say- it is what it is. I watched the press conference and it gave me hope. I'm counting on our leadership. The important thing is that they serve the people. I don't believe that Murtha will just sit back and do nothing re: this immoral war. He'll fight for the military. It's who he is. AS far as Hoyer goes...time will tell and I wish him the best. Hell, I wish AMERICA the best.

2. She put herself in a lose-lose situation by endorsing Murtha |

If Murtha had won the storyline would have been ABSCAM and CREW.

5. I Think It'll Die Pretty Quickly |

Really isn't that bad. Steny Hoyer is close to some lobbyists, but I doubt there is anything in his closet that will come back to bite the party. And he obviously has the support of his party.

Murtha will be always be a favorite of mine, but its time to move forward and forget the differences.

9. what the hell did she lose? |
|
she's the Speaker. She has an excellent whip who won with 2/3 of the vote. The media is just fishing for a failure. From where I sit, we're in the catbird seat.
