I think it's time for the Dems to give the media and the American public a lesson |
|
on how the Repubs handled the "people's business" when they were in power. The media and public need to be reminded that Dems were forced to hold hearings in basements, denied meeting rooms, left out of midnight sessions in which key legislation such as Medicare drug benefits was changed by the majority, and had many bills that could not even reach the floors of either chamber. Why is it that the pundits never mention any of this shit when stalking the Dems to be "bipartisan?"
And why do the pundits insist that the Dems must have a plan for Iraq? Isn't the President the "Decider" and Commander-in-Chief? Pelosi is not the CIC and the Dems have had several pieces of legislation that was not even considered by the Rethug majority. Pelosi should remind the pundits and people every chance she gets that no matter what the Dems come up with on Iraq, Bush is still the President and CIC and it was he who DECIDED (along with his neocon co-harts) to invade Iraq unprovoked against all warnings about the terrible destablization that would happen in the region.

If the rest of the american public knew the bullshit these repugs have been pulling the last 6 years, IN THEIR NAME, they'd probably be as pissed as we are.
The only difference is we've been discussing this stuff here on DU all along. Most of the country was watching "american idol" and "dancing with the stars."
It's time to show the world what was going down, shine a light on these bastards!!

2. The pundits and the media are pushing the crap |
|
of "Why aren't the Democrats doing anything about Iraq yet?" and "HaHa they're falling apart already" because that is what their bosses want the story to be.
The electorate is restive. They have this powerful "series of tubes" and it's harder than ever before to keep information out of their hands. They're getting "ideas" about things like.. "economic justice" and "populism" and other dangerous notions that threaten the godlike power of the big money guys like them. The next thing you know any old scummy, prole citizen will be sticking their noses where they don't belong.... creeping into the corners where we get our money and special deals and exposing the secrets that always seem to keep us one jump ahead of regulations and oversight..
We just can't have that, can we..
