Choice: where I draw the line between "disagrees with me" and "batshit crazy"
Believing that the following entities are persons, with a soul, and their destruction is murder:

- Embryos without a central nervous system
- Anencephalic fetuses

That, in my opinion, goes WAY beyond being wrong and right into "The voices! The voices!" territory.

1. I believe in souls...
...but souls are always safe - not necessarily the bodies they are in - the bodies don't matter so much.

5. NIce way to put it
and it certainly torpedoes the arguments from the antichoice crowd.

It seems the ones who tell us they love Jesus more than we do are the ones who least want to meet him.

3. The response you cite is based on religious dogma
not rational thought. I'm with you CPD

4. Call me batshit crazy then
I believe both of the above, although I am pro-choice.

But, it's okay, I've been called worse.

6. How about a Zygote?
As I have argued many times with priests going back to high school, does God put a soul into those days old cells, and then take it back when it fails to implant? What about twins? They start off with one soul and when it splits in two, he adds another soul?

They refused to answer me back then. I was abruptly told to "keep quiet."

7. I ask similar questions of religious fundies
Like, if you believe in predestination, then god knows the woman will abort the fetus so why would he put a soul in it? If you believe in free will, then god gives us a choice and until we make that choice, why would he put a soul into the fetus knowing that it could be aborted? Do you believe that god puts a soul into fetuses that are miscarried? If the answer to any of these questions for you is "yes", then what kind of god is it that would do something like that?

None of them can ever answer.
