We at DU Must Be Getting a Bunch of New Freepers and Other Trolls
I find suddenly I'm hitting the Ignore button a lot, and a lot harder than I used to. I haven't done that in months.

18. I'm Quite Sure Most Can Multi-Task While on DU
No one has to, it's their choice. I just prefer to challenge them and some others do the same.

2. Much of it is the fact that liberals are being forced out
in the name of moderates.

People who worship Lou Dobbs.

People who think that the best way to protect our rights is by reaching out (read as: caving in) to the religious fundie freaks.

Heard Hannity on the radio today pushing that particular propaganda.

6. Courting Fundies is a Dangerous Thing.
Fundies are NOT interested in compromising, in being moderate on anything.

7. I'm watching Lou Dobbs right now
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 06:54 PM by Leilani
He just finished a segment on hunger in America, followed by a debate on Free Trade.

He opposed Free Trade on behalf of American workers.

If that's Conservative, then I'm a Conservative.

And I'm not a Newbie.

24. he ain't perfect
...but he's got some good ideas, and he's changing (slowly) his immigration stance from "send 'em all back and build 3 walls" to "throw the business owners who hired them in jail"...

Big tent?

Peace.

22. Welcome to the populist wing of the Democratic party
The wine sipping art-gallery crowd from the East Coast has just been joined in the party by the American worker. Consequently old-school progressive issues like unemployment, wage growth, access to education, health care, progressive taxation and saving social security are going to vie with reproductive choice, gay rights and drilling in the ANWR refuge as political issues for the first time in decades.

Put down the cabernet and crack a cold brewski!

13. and more and more of us are getting a bit weary of the
PC nannies who howl at everything. The thing I miss most is the lighthearted attitude that used to be here.. Even in the dark hole we were in, people seemed to be able to laugh a little, but I guess most have "moved on".

I spend less time here too..

17. Ultra liberals cannot win alone! You NEED those moderates!
I've been on DU since 2000, and I support MOST Dem positions. I voted total Dem as I always do, and I made campaign phone calls fora local candidate And "Call for Change" for MoveOn. Now you're telling me you don't want me here!

Yes, I do watch Lou Dobbs every night. I don't always agree with him on everything, but then I don't agree with anyone on EVERYTHING either. Lou has been a big help to Liberals in the past year or so by pointing out the absurd positions they have on so many things.

I'm not leabing DU, no matter what you say. If you don't like what I have to say, use the ignore.

The Democrats need a majority of voters. Insisting on a certain finite group of ideas will continue to make us lose!

11. Some of both.
More of the latter though, lots of moderates and conservatives, even. There is a presence that really doesn't have a lot of use for the liberal element that still is a Democratic representation. Should be making our long suffering DLC friends quite pleased. I have seen a bunch of new fol;ks proclaiming they are "Blue Dogs".

14. We're in the majority, consume them arjuna
"I am time the destroyer, waster of worlds,
and all these foes are already dead by me;
strike, stay your hand, Arjuna, no matter,
these people are but dead by me."

- Krishna
(on a fateful chariot, in a battlefield kurushetra long ago)

Consuming them is 'chod':
"(Consider...)" the two types of identitylessness: identitylessness of self and identitylessness of meanings or appearances.

Identity of self refers to identifying the five aggregates as a truly existent "I" or self, and identity of appearances refers to identifying external appearances, such as form, sound, smell, taste, touch etc., as truly existing appearances outside the self or other than the self. From the absolute point of view, there is no truly existing self: the identified self is simply a mental grasping to a self. Similarly, there are also no truly existent external appearances; but rather, external appearances are illusory, like dreams. These two forms of grasping are the source of all dualistic appearances. Realizing that both the self and objects are not truly existent is the meaning of the wisdom of the two types of identitylessness.
