regarding media's spin on Dems: Remember, they did this to Clinton |
|
For those of you around in '92, remember that the media spin on Clinton, when he was President-elect, was almost exactly like what you're seeing now with Pelosi, etc.
The MSM went after Clinton immediately -- no "honeymoon" (unlike Georgie's 6 year press honeymoon)-- and spun, in particular, the "gays in the military" issue as Clinton's first "crisis." Of course, Bill knuckled under, in my view -- he should've said, "yeah, here's what I'm gonna do, and too damn bad!" Instead, he listened -- much too much -- to toe-suckers like Dick Morris.
in any case, just this reminder that the MSM has done this to the Dems before -- the Repubbies, of course, get loads of free passes during the "transitional stages" after elections...

2. The best way to make a cur quit nipping your heel is to kick it in the teeth |

Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Institute open transparent elections. Public Finance those elections by making the Media devote time to true debates. Outlaw corporate interference in the People's electoral process. And turn K street into a paring lot.

3. The Corporate Media too |
|
I notice the same thing in the Corporate media you notice in the MSM:-). The panic to illustrate taking a vote and Murtha not assured the outcome is some how foreign to them. Pelosi is slimed, the Dems are in shambles, Blue Dogs bite the moderate and Liberals as Hoyer is selected; if it weren't so blatant It'd be humorous.

I was thinking of just that (the immediate Clinton-bashing by the MSM)when I saw how the media was covering Pelosi. I remember a reporter standing outside the White House 3 days after the election, musing on how since Clinton had not been able to provide the press with a complete list of all his cabinet appointments, was this the sign of "a failed presidency." 3 days!!
They'll do the same thing to Pelosi. First, it's the fashion reports. She has just been voted to a post never held by a woman before, so of course, the most important thing we must know is who designed the clothes she wears. And as much as I'd like to have seen Murtha get the leader post, he simply didn't have the votes. And by a considerable margin. Everyone seems to be satisfied, and Murtha is going to head up a very powerful committee, so of course the press plays it as the democrats in "dis-array". The MSM is such a waste of time anymore. I think they've become like their icon Junior...completely delusional.

7. "delusional" is a pretty apt description |

I wonder if they're even aware how baldly obvious their tactics are?
