The POLLS look Great for DEMOCRATS - It's our time & 2008 too!!!
My secret resource, "The Scholar," informs me that we're headed left, as in a movement toward social and economic justice, and away form fruitless, unjustifiable, and harmful military adventures. Take a look at the great new Senator from my state, Jim Webb, D, VA. He's in favor of "leveling" the wealth, noting the obscene gap between rich and poor. He wants real racial reconciliation between whites and blacks in the working class, says we can't serve properly as a party without that. AND he says out of Iraq.

Since "the Scholar's" never wrong, I checked out PollingReport.Com to see what the trend was near election day. What a delight!

The country is turning from fear-based reflexive support of Republicans to their own best interests.

The generic poll says a lot. The Republicans are rejected outright, 28%. We're nearly at 50%.
The Clinton versus McCain or Guiliani trial heats have changed. Hillary is ALMOST EVEN. She's
always trailed in these. Given she's not the most charismatic candidate, this is exceptional news.
Imagine Edwards or Gore with a real machine behind them. They'd spank these guys.

And this one is also interesting. Clinton has name recognition,
the best thing you can have for polling. Doesn't matter
Clinton=Democrat. Look at that spread.

We're looking great. Out of Iraq, middle tax breaks, some decent treatment for the working class, health and an airing of the environment issues ... plus some required investigations to show the Republican crimes and we will be in great shape.

2. After all those stories right before the electoin, gay marriage
as a wedge issue will fade. In VA the idiotic amendment passed, despite being opposed by the Democratic Party and it's candidates. Now people are saying, 'gee, I didn't know it did that.' Well it's a mess AND we told you so.

We're going to hear about so much garbage, the reflex conservativism will go away quickly and something
needs to take it's place. It's not "centerism" because that stands for nothing. It's views like Webbs, who some call a conservative, which is totally wrong; or views like those of Gore, or Wes Clar, people who have a aeries of proposals that have some thought behind them.

8. Let's see...

You wear a silver football helmet and an eye patch, and when the siglines are on you look like Keitel. :D

Carville is from Carville, just South of Baton Rouge. That is LIZARD COUNTRY! If you wear a white robe and a confederate battle flag you'll fit right in there. I won't claim him, and neither will most people from here, including Cajuns. I don't know who the hell started calling him the "Ragin' Cajun" because he sounds more like a redneck hick from Northern Louisiana.

edit: Yes, Carville did say that. He did not say "Dean," but said "his" in reference to Dean. I had to alter it slightly to make it work in the pic (I did not want to write out an entire explanation just to define "his").

4. Carefull with these polls
2008 is two years away. These polls are about as good as ones taken right after the 2004 election expressing preferences for 2006.

5. I am. They show opportunity not outcome...We have the chance of our
political lifetimes. Most people know, even the ones polled, that things can change. I posted this as a snapshot of where we start. I'm most impressed that Hillary is even with McCain and Rudy G. That's AMF to the Republican "national security" advantage. Wait until the public gets a fair hearing, thanks to our committee chair people, on national security. This will switch dramatically. What do they have left. Race won't work, class war won't work, immigration was problematic for them, and now "national security" is no longer their sole franchise.

If we produce on Iraq without a lot of "statesmanship," i.e., we get the troops out rather than play games, then we're in great shape.

The rest of the issues are there too. The exit poll, which everyone agrees reflects attitudes on issues, show a public that's ready to rock, fix problems, help the middle and working class.

We just need to produce.

I'd say that if the 100 hours that Pelosi talks about happens, even if * vetoes that which he can, we're in great shape. We do, he negates Try it again and again.

So I agree with you and most everybody else, these don't predict, they portend and what an opportunity we have.

9. You're up ... causing trouble no doubt;)
So will be take the chance and hit it out of the park?

The whole process starts with the new Congress. This Hoyer-Murtha thing means nothing. It's just
a grudge match. The public doesn't care. They want action.

The word "center" and "centerist' should be banned.

Would you like an incrase in the minimum wage or some "center"?

You want some major health care breaks or some "center"?

Go to bed;)

10. Lookie here...
at Gore's level (that is a good sign)

I heard one of the talking heads say that it doesn't behoove Gore to announce early that he is intends on running.

I really think that if we keep reminding people that a vote for McCain is like continuing the bush dynasty will help us in the long run. That reach around hug McCain and B*sh did for all the cameras to catch is going to be hard for the McCain group to live with
Giuliani is too liberal for the south or so say the pundits.

11. My thoughts too!

Gore has done little to encourage people even thinking he'll run, yet he gets 21% or so saying they'd vote for him. This election is about competence. It's either Gore or Clark. No offense to supporters of the other candidates but the competence level required in 2008 will be stunningly high and people will look for that quality for the first time in a long time. McCain's "reach around" ... how you talk. Yep, that is one ugly scene...that should be shown over and over.
