1. Who knows, maybe the sex is really hot - n/t
Personally, I'm tired of both of them. Despite his "aw-shucks I'm just a hick" accent, I think Carville has become the ultimate inside the beltway type... and that's not good for the party or his candidates, whoever they might be.

3. I have personally asked James about his marriage and he has a fairly good

response. He says he would rather be married to someone who thinks abbout the biggest issues facing us and disagrees with him than be married to someone who doesn't think about those issues at all.

4. True love requires respect. How can he respect her political views if his own are deeply held?

Personally I think they both view politics as a well-paying game - and laugh all the way to the bank. Neither truly cares about America, or about the beliefs of the party that pays them.

They are both ultimate hypocrites.

on edit: No shock that a word-jockey would have a "good response"

11. It is possible to respect vastly differing views. It's her criminal acts
that should REALLY be problematic.

5. Is there a third choice?
I personally don't understand how anyone can be married to someone who disagrees with them on "the big issues". Nope, it must be the sex.:puke:

6. sounds like he got what he was bargained for, though why you'd marry...
someone that disagrees with your fibrous, moral core (assuming they do, whomever they are) is quite beyond me

7. As others have said, I'm not sure either has a fibrous, moral core.
People who have been that deeply involved in political campaigns their whole lives have emptied out most of their morality and filled the empty space with cynicism.

10. I couldn't do it

Maybe it's a personal failing of mine. But when I see someone that holds values which are diametrically opposed to the values I hold, no matter how attractive that person is, I would be thinking about it all the time. Marriage is about a lot of things, but it's mostly about partnership... and sitting across the breakfast table with someone who I think is simply wrong on 100s of issues, well it wouldn't be much of a partnership. I simply couldn't respect that person... and you can't have a partnership without respect.

Anyway, I don't trust Carville, I never really have, and his comments about Dean just sealed the deal with me. I don't want him around the Democratic party... our tent isn't so large that we need to invite people in that literally "sleep with the enemy" and who take pot shots at our party leadership.
