WE pay 8 Bil. a mnth. for the war yet we share NONE of the profits |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 07:53 AM by Philosoraptor
At least Julius Caesar shared part of his war loot with the people, thus making him hugely popular. War profiteers are cleaning up from the deaths of all these soldiers and Iraqis, major big bucks are being realized, yet we are not feeling the wealth out here in flyover land.
Maybe if they spread some of the booty around instead of hoarding it all we might not hate them so much.
And low gas prices don't count because they are so high to begin with, bringing them down a few cents is a cheap mind trick.
Either make war profiteering a crime again, or share the booty.

What fun is a war if the defense contractors who run the government can't siphon taxpayer dollars into their own pockets!? Why arent you a GOOD AMERICAN?? Why don't you support sending your kids over there to die to make Cheney and Rumsfeld rich and powerful!!?

2. I wonder, if Americans were given the choice of opting out |
|
...of paying for the war machine in Iraq, how quickly would we be out of there?

...than the current tab Americans (and our children) are looking at, too.

4. This is a rapid growth business...war doesn't pay dividends. |
|
If you want dividends you must invest in old governments who are happy with their size but focused on efficient growth.

9. There shouldn't be any profits at all |
|
If "they" weren't making profits on the war, there would be no reason to stay in Iraq.

is our people home and the criminals held accountable. This has gone on long enough. We have to go back to the fact that we never should have gone there in the first place, and the worst way to fix a mistake you made is to stay in the middle of it and prolong it. Not one more soldier should die but hundreds will. We need to stop fellating the new congress and remind them that the country was on the edge of disaster and empty rhetoric isn't going to pull us far enough away from that edge too keep us from going back over no matter who holds the house and senate. Rapid, radical action must be taken now.
