Why is it that we can easily deal with a communist Vietnam now but couldn't
before the Vietnam war? Is this sad irony getting lost in the media hype? We find it very easy to deal with Russia now...after all those years of the cold, cold war. I remember a few business people suggesting that we could deal with a communist USSR without casting them as members of an evil empire. Wonder how long it will be that we will be dealing with Iran and N. Korea and after how many lives wasted or economies ruined?

that is the only reason. it`s better to have china trade with cuba than to risk pissing off the wealthy cubans in florida

The imperial class wants a new source of cheap labor and cheap goods to sell for mega-profits?

4. The US also wants a buffer and leverage against China.
China and Vietnam have been mortal enemies for centuries.

3. No one likes to admit that their paranoia can cause huge problems.
It's better to just repress that memory and pretend it never happened. That way no one can ruin la la land. :sarcasm:
