1. Sounds like shitty customer service to me. |
|
Doesn't Walmart care about the privacy of it's customers?

2. That sounds like Wal-Mart is trying to peg this on John Edwards |
|
instead of the staffers who were trying to score brownie points.

7. And he didn't even tell the staffers to try to get one, they |
|
were trying to get one in order to kiss the boss's butt, but they screwed up royally.

4. Oh shit, this story again. You know, this is the thing that will |
|
kill Edward's political career probably. Cut in line to get a damn Sony Playstation 3.
I'm not saying that this wasn't stupid, but Edward's didn't do it. I'm not saying this wasn't selfish, but big fucking deal. It ain't like he lied to get 3000 Americans killed and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, plus sent a country into a vicious civil war.
Too bad one of the twins or Laura didn't try to snag one. Then we'd have 'em by the short hairs all right. :sarcasm:

"cutting in line" is asking to be put on the waiting list.

5. Or for crying out loud. |
|
What a total NON-issue, yet our wonderful "liberal media" trumpets it from on high to bash another Democrat.

snipped from the article at the link:
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Thursday that a staff member for former Sen. John Edwards -- a vocal critic of the retailer -- asked his local Wal-Mart store for help in getting the potential 2008 presidential candidate a Sony PlayStation 3. Edwards said a volunteer did so by mistake.
Edwards said that the volunteer "feels terrible" about seeking the game unit at Wal-Mart a day after his boss criticized the company, saying it doesn't treat its employees fairly.
"My wife, Elizabeth, wanted to get a PlayStation 3 for my young children. She mentioned it in front of one of my staff people," Edwards said. "That staff person mentioned it in front of a volunteer who said he would make an effort to get one. He was making an effort to go get one for himself."

I doubt he'd be complaining if he was actually successful in getting one.
Not to mention that politicians love dropping names. They know they don't have to say anything more once it's established that the person/place they're seeking some kind of favor or service from knows who they are.
Not an indictment of Edwards, just the reality of being a member of Congress.

10. If you read the story, you'd see he had nothing to do with |
|
trying to get the damn thing in the first place.

14. I didn't say he had anything to do with it... |
|
I'm just saying that if it had never gotten out and he had gotten the PS3, he wouldn't have cared where it came from. He may have never even found out. As well, what he was trying to do is not unusual behavior for a politician.

Simply had not seen any discussion on this and found it amusing that everyone is drooling over the PS3 today.
Plus I'm personally an Xbox player.

12. Whose word do you trust here, Wal-Mart or John Edwards?.. |
|
they will spend millions swiftboating him over the next two years. They have slimed our country and they are afraid of the truth.

15. It wasn't Edwards who did it |
|
so it shouldn't be blamed on him.
Wal-Mart is desperate for positive public opinion. What better way to rally the working man than to claim one of the "elite" is cutting in front of him? Especially when the elite one is critical of them? Two birds with one stone is what they are after here. They are grasping at straws.
