buying a PlayStation3. Another shining moment in Fresno history!

Fresno police reported two people were arrested in connection with the large disturbance Thursday night in front of the River Park Best Buy store when people waiting for a chance to buy the PlayStation 3 became unruly.

Sgt. Steve Card said James Lee, 26, of Fresno, was arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer and obstructing police officers in the performance of their duties.

An unidentified juvenile boy was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

Card said a large group among the several hundred people waiting outside the store surged forward out of control after store officials tried to get them to form an orderly line.


I wonder who in Fresno has that kind of money to burn? I guess the answer would be the drug dealers - Fresno
is Meth Central in California. Unemployment is at 10%. We have pockets of poverty that make New Orleans
look like Beverly Hills.

Last week, an 8th grader beat a 7th grader to death in an after-school fight (I wrote about it at the time). Not a single
school in the district meets the CA standards.

The police did have to go and warn the people on line at Best Buy to behave themselves here -but as far as I know, nothing outrageous happened. I do wonder where these youngsters get 400-600 to spend on 'toys' though.
