Poll question: Dennis Kucinich
Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 05:37 PM by LSK
It seems someone is very much confused:

http://www.patrickhenrythinktank.org/

"It's official: DemocraticUnderground.com is an unregistered PAC for the DLC
If you are a liberal, prepare to be tombstoned at the Democratic Underground. DemocraticUnderground.com has recently increased its purging of Kucitizens and other liberals. Simply posting a message that Kucinich has called for the cutting of funding for the war can get a person banned at DU. Pointing out that Kucinich is right got another poster banned over there. These are just two of a great many of examples why being a liberal is a tombstonable offense over at DU. Has DU filed the necessary papers with the FEC to be an advocacy group for certain 2008 DLC (conservative) candidates? Are they advising their donors that the donations will be going to promoting DLC candidates and to opposing liberal Democrats"

So what say you DU? Do you like Dennis Kucinich?

also feel free to send them your comments to info@patrickhenrythinktank.org

1. Very confused site. Dennis Kucinich got as many primary votes from DUers as
any other serious candidate. He got mine, even as a Kerry supporter. Dennis is still my FIRST Democratic love.

3. What exactly is the question?
Do we agree with DU being DLC, or that they are confused? Now I'm confused.

13. In that case, "Yeah". I voted for him in the '04 primary,
after I took a survey on-line that said his positions agreed with my opinions 100% on the issues under discussion. It immediately occurred to me that he must be an exceptionally wise and insightful man ;), and anyway, how often do you get to vote for a candidate who represents your beliefs THAT well?

11. Yes, please
This poll needs to be reposted. I think some of the No votes were cast before people knew WTF the OP was talking about.

so I guess I would have to answer that "yes, I do like Kucinich".

The fact is that over the years, lots of DUers have gotten tombstoned, not because they were trolls, and not because they supported a particular candidate, but because they simply did not have the self control to avoid posting in a disruptive fashion over things they felt strongly about. A certain subset of those former posters prefer to attribute their tombstonings to some sort of conspiracy against them, rather than accept the fact that their own behavior was at fault. Sadly, some of these people were long time members who seem to have had some sort of sense of entitlement, or a belief that the rules did not apply to them.

There are enough of these people out there now that they often find other sites to congregate at, where they can freely reinforce one anothers sense of victimization, and their conspiracy theories about DU. I expect that this site is one of those places, or that it has ties to one or more of those places.

Edit: I kind of doubt that Kucinich would appreciate people using his name in this way to attack the Democratic party and its supporters.

12. That flash from Patrick Henry is news to me.
You can get banned at DU for being a liberal? For supporting Kucinich?

Gee, I didn't know that.

I'll bet you didn't, either.

I don't think Mr. Kucinich will ever be president, but I like his stands on the issuses and support many of his positions, including his proposal to cut off funding for the occupation of Iraq.
