Fmr Bush Official: ""The Democrats Are The Sideshow... Bush Self-Destructing Is The Big Story In Town"...
NY Daily News | THOMAS M. DeFRANK, KENNETH R. BAZINET | November 17, 2006 02:12 PM

.............

For all the focus on the Democrats, a former Bush official who predicts a coming bloodbath between the White House and disgruntled conservative Republicans brushed off the Pelosi-Hoyer tussle as much ado about process.

"The Democrats are the sideshow," he said. "Bush self-destructing is the big story in town."

1. *Sigh* I Wish We Had a REAL Media
I mean of COURSE the BIG story is Bush and Repub party self destructing. They just got handed an electoral defeat of earth shaking magnitude and all the "analysts" in the Corp. media want to talk about is Pelosi. It's insanely frustrating and telling.

4. I'm guessing they'll have to "get over it"..
As soon as the subpoenas start flying.

Will the MSM ignore the investigations in January?

18. We can't let the Republicans frame every question of
administrative accountability as being partisan.

Attempts to shield the administration from accountability
are even more partisan!

25. "We" do. Unfortunately, it is in France and the UK.
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 11:03 AM by nealmhughes
Not that there aren't notable exceptions such as Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman in the US, Mosaic on cable for translated Middle East news from the providers there, and of course our own blogs.

However, it seems that The Guardian and The Independent, out of London; and in France, le Monde and especially le Monde Diplomatique are doing a fantastic job.

The Guardian will have a US edition in 2007. Things will be very diffferent then, I assure you.

I only read the UK and French papers online now and the local for what is going on in town. I find the Times, Post, etc. to be useless except for selected articles, and then they will be available through blogs.

6. I would hope
that the melt down comes with Apocalyptic disaster. The only way to fix what is broken is to wake up extremely large percentages of the population or rather what will be left of it. Above left and right, above Rethug and Dem there still lies the globalists and even the most ardent of KoolAide drinking redstaters are insignificant when compared to the Illuminati.

10. In light of Pelosi's
six for 06 plan, and note the 666 Satanic reference, yes I did.
Alex Jones, I'm all yours. Sometimes it makes way more sense than dailykos vs redstate.

are you sure you aren't' reading into things a bit? It's not a good thing to live under impending doom, all of the time.

I can assure you through history, many of the religious have been highly disappointed when predicting the end of the world.

I think the chances of earth being hit by a comet are far greater then any dead horse man sounding trumpets. Great piece of fiction and fantastic scare tactic to keep society in line but.. it's still a piece of fiction. Revelations was written by a mad man in the 4th or 5th century by John of Patmos. I could be wrong on the date... but I find it easier to believe in Science Fiction, then to believe in Bibilefiction.

17. Yes, but I'm comfortable with it
Gone through the twelve step process entirely. It's not really about religion either. In some ways I seek to wake people up, people so full of themselves they can't see straight. Hitler rose to power in Germany. When Bush et al tried the very same ploy today, well he is failing. Now this is a really great thing. The Lasthorseman theme came about as a way to illustrate just how mad this 50 year old, WASP born in America, Boy Scout, and used to be "normal" American has become about the direction powerful and influential men are taking this country. All throughout history man has used religion, why stop now. Today though when the disaster comes the probability of a man created Apocalypse is far greater than a Biblical or a science fiction one. I still like the tag line.

Lord, shall I go and tack him up now!

22. No apocalyptic disaster, please. We dont need any End-Timers in control.
I would hope that the melt down comes with Apocalyptic disaster.

Please, don't wish death and destruction, especially on that kind of scale. Why should innocent people get hurt? There is no need. We don't need any End-Timers anywhere near power.

23. Bring It On!
If the GOP is disgruntled with Bush at this point, which appears to be the case, one has to wonder where they originally thought this proven sub-mediocrity would take the country over the course of a presidency if elected. Seven years ago, then-Texas-Gov. Bush was heralded as a likely front runner for the 2000 GOP nomination. His early support didn't originate from any proven accomplishments as a businessman or public servant, but from his family name, which was correctly perceived as a magnet to draw big bucks from the Republican establishment's deep pockets. I wonder how many of Bush's influential backers would do it all over again if the disastrous results of this administration had been known back then?

24. Junior screws up and his dad's friends bail him out again.
We all knew that G.W.'s reliable reverse-Midas-touch would eventually run its course. Of course the arrogant fool is self destructing. The question is: How can Daddy's friends save Junior after he's f~~ed up a whole country?

They've arrived on the scene, but I wonder if they might just let Junior get his comeuppance this time?
