Scotties are very intelligent and they are independent, they are not fawners, my scottie would meander across the room and just accidently flop down about a foot away from my feet. They are not the sort to fawn over those who drop them on their head.

2. I grew up with a westie. |

she was litterbox trained (best thing we ever did with her!)
and she was a VERY good judge of character. She knew who liked her, who didn't, and who was just pretending. (The last category of people usually didn't make it in the house without some growling, snarling, and "extra attention" being paid to said person- the "if looks could kill" look would stay on her face as long as the person remained in our house.)

Now, I admit that I am a lousy cook, I am known for this, so when I made a steak, my dog would run out of the room and just peek around the corner, his conclusion: either I would create a fire in the kitchen in which case he was safe in the next room or I would make a delicious steak; so he wanted to run away but not too far, in case he would miss out on a good steak.
