Animal School: A Tale For Our Children's Sake
This lovely allegory comes courtesy of H20Man who was kind enough to share it with me.

1. That was very moving
I know schools can be awful, to make kids feel like failures because of the rote learning.

Bruce Springsteen always hated school and dropped out, and never looked back either.

3. Thanks.
I just forwarded it to my daughter, She runs a state pre-school and I think it might be a good tool for her. Every year, there are kids (and parents) who need that special help in understanding. This year, she's added a night class in parenting because she sees such a need.

5. I was one
of the kids that absolutely did not fit in during the school years. I read where John Lennon -- I think in the infamous Rolling Stone interview -- said that school is where society attempts to chip kids down to either fit into a suit & tie, or to be a factory worker. It was a strange experience for me, and I suppose I was a weird experience for many teachers.

I did have several very good teachers. I asppreciated them then, and remain friends with most of them all these years later.

6. very nice
Postive reinforcement is a dying concept in public education. To conform is the norm.

11. It's always easier
to see what WE are doing wrong by observing the same behavior in others. I guess that's why parables are so effective. Beautiful movie. Thanks for posting.
