Question: Have you or your child ever been DISOBEDIENT?

If you haven't, then maybe your child has at times. I am sure there are times when they were mouthy with someone at some time. All children don't particularly act the way we would like them to from time to time. Just think back a bit. Remember the time? You may have thought you were going to pull your hair out because they couldn't control their mouth. Maybe it was at Thanksgiving, maybe it was after they split up with a girl or boyfriend. Maybe it was when a teacher corrected them. Maybe it was when they were stressed out because they were falling behind in school.

Kids are not perfect, hell, we are not perfect.

That child in UCLA could have been your child, my child or your neighbors child. Have you ever been hit with 50,000 volts of electricity? I doubt it. Think of the worst pain you have experienced and remember your reaction to that pain. Did you cuss? Did you scream? Do you get up easy when you have fallen or do you sit for a bit?

Just imagine being in that library, trying to get a report done. You were close to having it completed, just needed a bit more time. Then you realize you don't have your card when they ask you for it. They tell you to leave, then they leave. Would you think that perhaps they were going to let you slide? You rapidly finish your report then on your way out of there, you are surrounded by police.

They grab your arms. Would you ask them to take their hands off of you?

Then you are hit with the worst pain you have ever had. You believe you are singled out because of your ancestry. You call out whatever pops into your mind, after all the whole thing is the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to you.

"Stand Up" you hear, but your legs are not able to carry the weight from the voltage that hit your body. The repeated painful tasering continues until they carry you out.

That child could have been anyones. Could of been mine.

I stand with the child. We must stop this insanity.

at worst, he was a smartass when asked for his ID. He did nothing to indicate that he was, or even might be, a danger to anyone and might require physical intervention. There is no defense for the initial tasering ... and the subsequent tasering while his hands were cuffed behind his back, and he was unable to stand, prove that these 'security guards' acted criminally. By the way ... how many security guards were there?? Seems they could have handled any incident, not involving a weapon, with sheer numbers.

It's on videotape, multiple eye witnesses ... easiest case his lawyer will ever have ... unless, of course, * declares him an enemy combatant and disappears him ... :shrug:

It seems to me that these tasers are used quite "freely" by a lot of law enforcement people. I guess that they feel if they have them, then they should use them.

It seems pretty chickenshit to me.

I don't know how I would react as a parent if this was my child. I would want the officers involved to lose their jobs, I know that. I would probably sue the shit out of UCLA, too.

7. i can be honest, but those that say RULES, or kids did wrong or whatever

wont be honest. they wont tell you about not doing right. i know this because i have inlaws like this. all but perfect and expect all others to follow suit. i have been thiking about this about a week now, in one form or another and let me tell you where i have gone in this whole thing.

my family have never followed rules for rules sake and do things just cause someone tells us. but... we are honest, and we have integrity and a lot of character

my in laws follow all the rules. govt, school, societal, all the things to get along. they need that sheet to tell them how they are suppose to behave and how everyone else has to behave. they cant free form it.

i was talking to my oldest tonight who is like my husbands side. he told me dad parked in handicapped space. i said, but he pulled out right. no he says, but we were coming right out

i said you know, at least i am honest about not following rules. the other family though, they demand it of all and then, they park handicap and make excuses, another one parked in front of a fire hydryant. i would NEVER do somethng like that, because that does put someone else out. i have taken it from that family for smoking for 12 friggin years. hubby chews and hides it from family.

they lie and hide their sins. i admit and own mine. i dont tell people what to do. they demand people live how they think we all should, not that they can or will, they will just pretend they didnt

10. Exactly my point - not everyone is going to react the same

way when in a confrontation. Not all kids or young adults have learned to "tuck it in" and remain quiet in confrontation.

The actions of the student warrant the abuse of power that ensued. Tasers were designed to be used in situations where peoples lives are in danger.

Several years ago we read reports that electrical fields are thought to cause cancer. The reports stated that those in occupations such as running power drills, etc., could have a higher chance of developing cancer. I am not aware of any tests of the taser gun that would prove it is safe to be used.

If that student had a gun or other weapon, my opinion might be different. He was just a student who reacted verbally to the racial profiling he was receiving from the police.

Those who are holier than thou need to wake up and realize they do not always do the right thing either.
