Maybe what we need is to "cull the herd" of the Democratic Party
The last few days have shown who are the men and who are the mice among Senate Democrats.

(And who are the women and the mice...)

It's tempting to rail against the democratic party as a whole, but we have seen at least responsiveness and supportivness from a goodly number of them.

Add them to the Conyers, Kucinichs, etc. in the House, and there is still the base of a great Democratic Party that would clearly provide leadership for the left half of the nation.

So I think we ought to come up with creative ways to "cull the herd," and get rid of the bastids who contimue to undermine the efforts of liberals, progressives and reasonable moderates.

Then we could have a leaner and meaner Democratic Party that could actually start fighting and winning again.

2. I live in Mass, so there's no culling here
Kennedy and Kerry and a quiet but consistently liberal Congressman.

But the scurvy dogs who sold us out in otehr states certainly deserve some kick-butt primary opponents.

3. Purge seems to be an appropriate word

There are some of us that say that prohibition inflicted more harm than any other policy of the 20th century. I think purging the party of prohibitionists would transform it. I think it is the biggest of deals.

4. Separate the wheat from the chaff.
Lieberman, biggest chaff of all. A jinx on the Democratic party. He's got to go.
