If a Democrat had said this, there'd be hell to pay. |
|
Representative Roy Blunt of Missouri, elected minority whip, claimed that the GOP was already organizing to stop any Democratic initiatives dead in their tracks. He promised obstructive policies and a fight at every turn. If any democrat had said anything like this, the Mainstream Media would have been all over them like flies over shit. Yet a GOP leader can not only get away with it, the Media turns the other cheek and repeats the inane Rovian claims that Pelosi has lost control over her party.
a perfect quote:
"I think you have to look at the job that needs to be done and realize that our best opportunity to take back the majority is in the first re-election of all these Democrats who ran effectively as Republicans and the many Democrats who’ve been for some time, who since they’ve never been in the majority, have always been able to avoid taking the tough vote, we need to make that life difficult for them by the Republican whip doing the job that only the whip can do on the floor every day."
This is the guy who made life diffcult for the minority party, with insults, possibly unconstitutional actions and by supporting the worst president in history at every turn. And he promises more of the same. How's that for bipartisanshitism?

The minority has almost no say on anything in the House. The Democrats were making sounds like they were going to be more generous to the minority than t he Republicans were...but with statements like this coming from the evil ones...they may want to rethink that strategy

8. so roy blunt identified the enemy |
|
it's not the rape-public-can party, though they are involved; but the real enemy is the pigmedia (you callem 'mainstream media' though obviously as the majority aren't served by it, which contradicts your term, they can't be the msm) and it's upon the PIGMEDIA that our focus should be on! That's in fact how meester pig turned the media into their plaything (read 'up from conservativism' by michael lind for the gritty details) 10 years after the clinton 'monica'/whitewater farce; 12 years after oj simpson, 15 years after rush limbah-humbug began betraying the USA (now called the WSA) there are people who respect the pigmedia enough to ignore their 99 percentage role in the death of civilization and perversion of news to shift the focus upon the pawns dancing in the smoke and mirrors while toto(?) frantically tries to get our attention.... and that's only right. we deserve george bush junyer as our leader, cuz we are all really busheviks under the glossy rebel outfits it seems:)

What about the children? What about our soldiers? What about the poor? What about the oppressed? What about the weak, the aged, the ill, the ones who are disenfranchised from the American Dream?
WHAT ABOUT THE NATION THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE?
WHAT ABOUT THE HARDWORKING MIDDLE CLASS THAT PAY YOUR SALARY AND VERY GOOD BENEFITS?
WHAT ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION?
And by the way, what about Nancy Pelosi making you live under your own rules for the next two years?
I don't know whether to cry or scream.

This will make the blue dog Democrats and the Democrats that just want to make friends with republicans take notice.
This may also help the Democrats keep control of Congress take the White House.

Please note, the Democrat Party did not win, GOP ideals prevailed and some GOPers simply made mistakes which will be corrected. http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/MaryKatharineHam/2006/11/14/congressman_roy_blunt_talks_with_bloggers

That will make the voters twice as mad as they were this year and we'll get the whole lot of them out of office in 2008.

15. but it requires a steady, calm and consistent hand at the helm. |
|
Our response machine must be polite to their screeching; calm compared to their attacks; well thought out compared to their reactionary crap; and repetitive. The best man to arrange that is the same guy who created a 50 state strategy - Howard Dean. His statesman-like approach, his rational plan and his follow up made 2006 what it was.
On the other hand, if we leave it to Carville, Brazille, Emmanual or other DLCers, not only with the message be screamed out, and therefore lost in the noise, but it will be reactionary loud and inane.

17. In the end, what did Democrats really obstruct? |
|
The only major votes lost were because of Repuplicans siding with Democrats, AFAIK.
Sure, there were procedural slowdowns, but when did any bill actually get voted down because of Democratic tactics?

18. correct. Not one senatorial philly buster, just a few holds |
|
on some truly gross judicial nominees. In the House, the leadership didn't even share intel from NSA, DIA or DOD. They ignored requests concerning State. They even forced the Democrat Party members to hold meetings in the basement, because they refused access to normal meeting rooms. They held open votes against their own rules, and refused to even consider Dem amendments.

The one that really pissed me off was when they had the balls to call the capital police and try to have the Dems removed for holding a conference. Filthy fuckers.
