(Not my point of view, but I liked the graphic-Kpete)

We Are Fucked
by Maryscott OConnor
Mon Jan 30, 2006 at 02:16:53 PM PDT

Maryscott OConnor's diary :: ::
Look, I'll replace the original text later, but it seems cruelly, viciously ironic to keep it up right now.

What I want is a complete list of every scumsucking fuckstick Democratic asshole Senator who voted for Cloture. That's what I want.

I don't know what to DO with that list, not yet -- but I know for GODDAMNED sure I won't be VOTING for any of them, lt alone sending them any goddamned MONEY.

Frankly, right now I'd like nothing better than to torpedo the entire lot of them. Just dump them like so much worthless, leaden, VICHY MOTHERFUCKING BALLAST.

I got nothin', folks. Don't look over here if you want comfort or a nice, uplifting LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY speech.

I'M DONE WITH THEM. They are DEAD to me.

Yeah. CANTWELL and BYRD and LANDRIEU and BINGAMAN and every last motherfucking one of them, I'm DONE with them.

I'm registering Independent tomorrow. You're welcome to join me.

1. Can you change registration on line... I will be joining you.
I respect Sen. Kennedy for his decades long work for individual Americans but I can no longer in good conscience be a democrat.

7. I'm with you, mzmolly.
Quite a few Democrats did the right thing -- including Kerry, Kennedy, and my Maryland senators.

20. And mine from NY.
I told the local staffer who I spoke to, last Friday, that I felt proud to be from NY. (And that hasn't always been the case.) It feels pretty good to have called your representatives and to see them do the right thing. But some of us have had an easier time than others. Those DUers who are stuck with senators like Frist, Cornyn and Lieberman are feeling especially bad, right now. They worked as hard as the rest of us, but were facing an impossible task.:-(

3. I'm not changing registrations, but I will make it a point to declare
that I'm a Democrat who despises Lieberman and any other mealy-mouth capitulating appeasing DINO who fractured our only chance of standing united for something.

They hurt us far more than they can even estimate. We have to hurt them back.

4. remember folks they only understand one thing
MONEY. If they have a business, boycott it. If they call you begging for a donation, tell them no and tell them why.

21. Yup, still a demo but there are not many on the Senate
that I would vote for. But, k-pete speaks for me in all the other areas! There is no reason for what happened today. All their talk about the coming election and how bush's number are falling is worthless. We have really shown the parties' true colors, chicken yellow.

8. Well; if you actually thought we'd win this one then...
you are naive'!
We already KNEW we wouldn't win the votes!
BUT??
We only had TWO Senators two days ago!!
Today we had TWENTY-FIVE!!!
I think that's pretty good, myself, on short notice!
Everyone who called and faxed and e-mailed
should be commended for their efforts!
I'm not taking my toys and going home!
The alternative is just to grim!
Besides?
I'm a fighter!!!!
Fights ON!!!! Gloves are OFF!!
PS...
and so are elections of 2006!

11. We do not like what happened but
it is not the end of the world. Sure some of our Dems did not vote the way we wanted but when you consider the alternative we better stick and support what we have. We are at a great disadvantage being the minority party. We need to work extra hard in 2006 and 2008 to make sure that changes. DROPPING OUT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE.

22. How will
DROPPING OUT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE?

Are you that naive to believe only Dems vote for Dems?

I had been a loyal Dem for thirty two years. Voted, supported, donated money, co-ordinated fundraisers, etc. for Dems. But then, I finally realized it din't matter. I had stayed the same, while the party left me.

After the 2004 primary, I switched to Independent.

From that point forward, I will only vote for a true liberal candidate.

15. Two is the upper limit.
There's no reason to believe it likely that anyone besides Stevens or Ginsberg would retire or pass away.

The most likely scenario is Bush getting no more picks.

Let me say this. You and your side may be winning now, but the pendulum never stops swinging and one day it will be back on our side. From the day a party gets in power, its days there are numbered. So it is now with the Republican party. Some day, the left will regain power in this country, and then *we* will be laughing at you.

Think I'm just talkin' out of my ass? I wonder if Herbert Hoover felt as invincible on election night 1928 as Bush feels now. I'm pretty sure he did.

Re edited to add: I hope he read this before he got banned. He probably laughed at me, but someday I'll have a big wide grin on my face when the Dems win back both houses.

The fighting Dems did try so I'll stay and fight with them. I'm with the 25 patriots. The rest will not get a dime or a day of my time.

24. Here's one idea:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=273954&mesg_id=273954

and we also need to find REAL Democrats to run against the DINOs in the primaries-and work our asses off for them.

what a fucking stupid rant (not you kpete)

you want to win battles like this, you have to have MORE senators and it would not hurt to have the WH.
