On a little message board I am on the story about the guy caught having sex with a dead deer was posted.

The discussion was light until one of the RWers posted this comment:

People do just about anything. Gay marriage will lead to all sorts of more perverted stuff coming out of the woodwork.

A few of us jumped on him for this. I asked him for proof that gay people who want to get married are attracted sexually to dead animals. I asked what he was basing his opinion on. One of his friends responded:

The smell I reckon.

And another dim bulb posted this comment:

Sorry but I have to agree, for I see little difference (between gay sex and sex with a dead animal).

And then there is this one:

I wouldn't know but I do know a rump ranger is just that and it doesn't matter what kind of rump it is.

So is this hatred or just plain ole stupidity?

I'm glad I live in a place with a near total lack of fundies. I don't really have to deal with homophobia at all. I mean, a typical NJ Republican is like, "oh gay people? Yeah, I'm friends with a few. They should get civil unions or something. I really just care about getting lower property taxes."
