Happy Messiah Day everyone!
Yes today is my 29th birthday. I decided to take today and declare it a holiday. I figure since that other Messiah (Jesus) has a day that was hijacked for him that has no relavance to his actual birth it's more meaningful to declare your birthday a national holiday.

The point of the holiday? To spread fun and cheer to everyone you know. I want no depressed souls on my day. I want everyone happy. This morning alone I gave money to a battered women's shelter and Salvation Army. Do your part to cheer up your family and friends and give to the poor and needy.

Even if today is not Messiah Day for you, I figure we can all stand up and live this each and every day. And there's still time to help. Volunteer at a local shelter's thanksgiving meal, bring a blanket and some food to someone who is homeless and out in the cold.

Make a difference.

I declare today Messiah Day, in honor partly to my nickname but also in honor to the teachings of that other Messiah who asked for us to look out for the poor. Christmas is commercial and fun but it's not Christ's birthday and we're expected to pretend it is yet we're to give expensive gifts to our own inner circle.

On my day I ask that you give good fun and cheer to your inner circle, but give just a little bit more to everyone else.

With the damage those Republicans did the past 6 years to the middle class and the poor, there's more people than ever that need you.

Happy Messiah Day Everyone!

1. Happy B-day, Messiah!
Here's hoping you avoid that whole "good friday" holiday.
