Something In The Air
Something in the Air - Thunderclap Newman

Call out the instigators

(PNAC founder)

(PNAC founder)

(PNAC member)

(PNAC member)

Because there's something in the air

We've got to get together sooner or later

Because the revolution's here,

and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Lock up the streets and houses

Because there's something in the air

We got to get together sooner or later

Because the revolution's here,

(Sante Fe, NM. Mar. 8, 2003. 150 unclad women and children formed this peace symbol...)

and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Hand out the arms and ammo

We're going to blast our way through here

We got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here,

and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together

now

I've always loved the song...but the impact of the lyrics with your graphics is something altogether different from the usual flash-back.

3. thanks. I've always loved that tune as well.
and I'm sure there's been other photo montages done here to that before, it just begs for it.

I have a particular likeness for this one as well:

The Youngbloods - Let's Get Together Lyrics

Love is but the song we sing,
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Know the dove is on the wing
And you need not know why

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now

Some will come and some will go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moments sunlight
Fading in the grass

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now

If you hear the song I sing,
You must understand
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now
Right now
Right now!

8. Track ten, the Prologue. Actual recording of the police riot.
Edited on Sat Nov-18-06 03:49 PM by acmejack
The Chicago cops of Mayor Daley beating the crap of out everyone at the Demonstration outside the 68 Democratic Convention. Ed Bradley got beaten, it was literally a riot, the police went berserk. The demonstrators chanted the "Whole World's Watching" and they were!

edit: It is a snip of the track that is like ten seconds long-sorry.

I really did this on the fly, if I had put more thought into it, I'd probably be listed as a terrierist. ;)

15. Such a great song...
There's an excellent version of it on Gamma 2. The band is Gamma (w/Ronnie Montrose). It's known as the shark in the grass LP, because of the cover art.

Nice montage.

16. funny you should bring up that song...
I found an original vinyl (I prefer the sound of vinyl over Cds) on election day. The album, "Hollywood Dream", is a work of art and the guitar work of the the then 14 year-old JM is incredible. He went on to play in Wings and sadly overdosed.
A great song and a great treatment of it here. Good work!

21. Wilms just posted a vid of the song. ...
I've viewed it 5 times now and see 14 year old JM, besides many other things that has happened to the music industry.
Back in the day I don't recall who the members of the band were, it's their words and rhythm that stuck with me all this time, like a nice smell you remember from your childhood.

20. a goosebumply thankyou! wow.
I'm going to have to have some time to recover...
the simplicity of it, the unvideo effects freakness, the message.

It's quite moving to see how far 'we' have moved in the communication/music business. Now it's flashing bells and coloured whistles with no content, Generally (many exceptions tho, but not the norm by any means)
