OK Sirius Left...The Bill Press Show Is Fine...But...
it is time for some original content during the 6pm to 9pm EST slot. It has been about two months since the "Young Turks" departed. Bill Press is a fine show. Still, it would be nice to have a show during that slot that is not a replay of a morning show. Stephanie Miller from nine to midnight is a bit different. Stephanie's humorous content makes the show great regardless of the time that it aired.

1. Do you really think anyone there even cares what we want to hear?
I don't..

There are enough people available, so there should never have to be reruns..

There;s only ONE channel, for pete's sake..how hard could it be to air original programming??

It;s not like they have 7 or 8 24-7 channels to find talent for..

I hate the fact too that my ONE measly channel is always getting "taken over" for stuff like Grambling football, and yet just a few numbers away, there is Hannity droning on and on and on..

2. In My Opinion...
that time slot cries out for original programming. So much goes on in the afternoon, I just want to hear fresh discussion.

3. Odds are that
Mike Malloy will take over the 9 PM-midnight ET slot on Sirius Left, once Nova M gets its satellite uplink feed working.

11. Well, I can't stand Stern.
I find the juvenile banal humor boring.

But if you like him, enjoy.

Not everyone has the same tastes.

12. I like to laugh
'Laughter is the best medicine' is not a cliche because it isn't true.

What makes you laugh?

6. I Was Really Turned Off To XM Last Summer...
during the AAR exclusive move to XM. I was considering either switching or adding XM at that time. A few DUers with ties to XM took the opportunity to rub Sirius subscribers nose in it. Although I am disappointed with some aspects of Sirius Left, I do enjoy it. Plus, Sirius has NFL (since I work Sundays I am able to follow the games). My favorite college football team is on Sirius. Plus, although he is not every ones cup of tea, I enjoy Howard Stern.

8. He is, isn't he?
Stern's new show is the funniest goddamn thing I've ever listened to.

7. Tell me about it.
I get Bill Press on the way to work and Bill Press on the way home. Get someone new for the evening slot or move Stephanie up.
Nothing against Press, but it's getting a little monotonous.

9. Well...
if Malloy does move into the 9 to midnight then moving Steph up would be fine by me.

13. Earlier this week, Alex Bennett commented on this and said...
to expect an announcement in about a week to 2 weeks about this. He referenced Bill Press being on twice a day, and noted that a lot of people hear him going to and coming from work. My ears perked up at that because mr liberty has that problem. Oftentimes he will hear the EXACT same segments of Bill Press in the AM and PM!

Alex wouldn't give any hints, other than there was a change coming, and that Sirius was aware of their customers dissatisfaction. Lots of people have called in and complained to Alex, and also to Lynn Samuels (sometimes I'm forced to listen to her) about it.

15. Me too...
I got Sirius originally just for Air America. I've got 2 home docks, a boom box, 3 car docks, and a unit on our motorcycle. All of them purchased while they had AAR (except the unit on the bike, which mr liberty just HAD to have (lol) and got as a birthday present from his mom!). I can't afford to go with XM, and don't want to anyway. But I've been very disappointed since they let AAR get away from them, and then when they lost the Young Turks it went to a whole new level of unhappiness.

I've heard a rumour that Sirius is buying AAR, which would be an awesome solution, but I'm not really going to get hopeful about anything, just wait and see what happens!
