A great, yet tempered joy.

To all my fellow DUer's:

First, as is my habit, thank you all for helping to educate, inform and entertain me for a long five years. This past Tuesday was a great day for America. A moment of change amid crisis where people spoke, perhaps unafraid for the first time in many years to do so, and told this administration that we just couldn't take their word for things anymore. I am happy for this beyond words. So just think of me smiling as I type this.

The elation over the results has been tempered by an accident involving someone close to me that night. Those involved have asked me to keep the details private, and I shall respect their wishes. I can say that the person is in rehab, on the mend and may go home within the week. As things get better, the more enjoying last week has become possible.

Two long roads worth taking slowly.


My friends, you have helped keep my keel even during all this, just by being DU. I am so thankful that you are here.
