New "Minority Speaker" says GOP can work Dems; Brownback disagrees
WASHINGTON, DC (AgapePress) - The new U.S. Senate minority leader is optimistic his party can work together with Democrats on major issues facing the nation. However, other Republicans in the Legislature have doubts about whether the GOP will be able to find common ground with Democrats as extreme leftist liberals take the reins of leadership in Congress. "We had an extraordinarily productive first session of this current Congress," McConnell notes. "It slowed down considerably in the last six months because the minority does have the ability to block and blame," he says....

The new Senate minority leader says he does not blame the Democrats for this since the GOP has done the same thing "from time to time as we were in the minority." But now that the election is over, he adds, "the American people have a right to expect us to put that behind us and grapple with some of the serious issues that are confronting us."....

Republican Senator Sam Brownback is among those GOP members in Congress expressing concern that, even though a number of the Democrats elected to the House and Senate claim to espouse moderate or conservative values, the radical liberalism of the Democratic leadership will chart the party's direction.

Although the November 7 midterm elections brought about several Democrat victories, Brownback insists the vote was by no means a rejection of conservative values by the electorate. He says there are plenty of values voters who remain concerned about protecting life and traditional marriage, but who were simply "overwhelmed" by the issues of Iraq and corruption charges against the Republicans.

1. Extreme leftist liberals?
First of all, isn't it a contradiction in terms to be both an extreme leftist and a liberal?

And secondly, WHO in Congress is an extreme leftist?????

2. 'WHO in Congress is an extreme leftist'
Anyone with a "D" next to their name, according to the Republican talking point machinery.

4. "the leftists are coming! the leftists are coming!" run for your lives! your marriage is in danger!
Yes I hear say these radicals want to make abortion mandatory.

...and apparently, the 'San Francisco values' crowd wants to make sex between men and women illegal!

It is truly frightening; thank the Gods Sam Brownshirt is there to protect your marriage from 'the gay'.

I heard on Fox that Pelosi has put Osama Bin Laden in charge of Homeland Security.

3. There is absolutely NO Republican left
in DC with even 1/2 ounce of credibility. Anything that comes out of their mouths are lies.

5. Where
Where in this country do we have all the extreme leftist liberals. In the states where the democrats had governors, nothing extreme happened. but now if you want to talk about extreme how about the right wing nutso CONservative republicans. Like putting bathing suits on nude statutes in public. And draping a statue in the House that had been that way for almost 250 years, because another nutso republican couldn't stop staring at her bare breast. IT HADN'T BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
