What are some of the events that will happen...
If the stock market crashes,economy,etc...what do you think it will look like in all sectors of this society. I heard some economists on the radio discussing now soon the real info about the economy will be revealed and it didn't sound good...what do you think that we should be preparing for...if this is true...

1. Big increases in crime, violance and sucicides for starters
Big drop in education levels. Arms dealers will prosper. Too many people will be forced into homelessness and despair. It will make the dust bowl days look like a picnic.

Plant a garden... or just some salad greens in a bag of potting soil. Learn how to agument your basic needs. Teach children real skills instead of letting them park their asses at the x-box to numb their brains. Stress basic science. It could make the difference between surviving or not.

7. Grow food how ever you can
is what I mean.

People today don't understand enough of their own nation's history to understand real hunger is possible for millions and millions here in America if the system fails. Supplement your diet with whatever veggies you can grow. Salad greens are fast and easy. Even in an apartment.

9. Grow not just green salads
Grow peas and beans indoors or outdoors. Six to eight weeks and there's protein.

11. and plant peas early. If you live in Southwest, plant after the worst of summer
for a winter crop. Peas and most beans like it cool. I plant peas in late Feb and I live in Montana! Had a bumper crop. Plus, very good for the soil so other things grow better without adding a lot of chemical fertilizer.

And they store well when dry. You can keep them for years if you do it right, and it is easy

I mentioned salad greens because they are easy, showy, quick and build confidence in novice gardeners ;) Thanks for expanding the experiment.

8. How long can you stay in your house if you loose your job.
If the market has tanked, and everyone is trying to sell off their stocks to make the next house payment, it's going to get tight quick. Your boss may smell the coffee brewing and close up shop before he has more payroll going out and nothing being sold. Then it's make the house payment our pay the insurance on the car. Then the snow ball starts down hill. Then your SUV isn't a statis symbol it's your house. Then all that stuff you bought "made in China" from borrowing against the equity in you house is sitting in the street. Yea it aint going to be eazy and a lot of people are bent over big time.

6. Yes, I was thinking that during the campaign...
Now all will be revealed and they are planning on setting it up so that the dems will get the blame.

10. More underfunded pension plans thrown to the taxpayers
Hopefully, we'll have a savvy spokesperson shouting to the rooftops that this is exactly why we need to keep Social Security intact vs. handing it over to the stockmarket.
