2. Meanwhile, in the good ole USA...
the peeps are watching endless accounts of the TomKat wedding and OJ Simpson giving the finger to the legal system. Marx got it wrong, the opiate of the masses is not religion - it's US tv.

4. *tsk, tsk* that's "The Negroponte Death Squads in Iraq"
we must always remember where the high level of training and professionalism comes from, and give credit where credit is due.

6. I do wonder for how long and what type of training/support has been given to Shiites
Iraq, at least Baghdad, is in full-on civil war!

5. Watched about half and had to take a break.
After all the time, money and death all we really control is the green zone and even that seems to be under siege.

This war is a disaster for the history books.

7. Didn't everyone find it strange that one week after Negroponte arrived in Iraq,
that Italian journalist and her bodyguards were killed?

I can't remember her name offhand, but she was the one that was going to report on the incidents in Falluja.

doing over there! See what Cheney's "dark side" and Negroponte's death squad training are doing. :puke:

10. What organization produced this video?

I'm not casting any doubt as to its veracity. It seems very credible. No doubt in my mind that Iraq is a civil war and both sides have death squads and torture squads.

But if I'm watching a video, I just like to know its source.

18. I'm shocked that this onlyi has 10 recs. Every American has to see it.
I saw it early a.m. Thank you Roland, this is a stunner. I've been thinking about it all day. I was at a political meeting and felt like saying, "This is all bull shit, go watch this video!!! Damn it!"

It is the summation of why this war is a war crime and why the American people have had their good faith and image tarnished and, much worse, why our soldiers and the Iraqi people have been put in such horrible situations.

The minister who recruits these death squads would be out in a hot second if our higher ups wanted him out. The question is, why is he still there?

Thanks you Roland.

19. Makes me wonder just how the neocons were to secure the oil.
But, that's what happens when batshit insane ideologues take over foreign policy and use our men and women in uniform to wage their ideological battles.

The end result is the completely opposite desired effect.

as those who now run the death squadswould then run Iraq.

I see the point, but the underlying premise that US-led presence can somehow HELP in dealing with the death squads, I reject.

Otherwise, the documentary is a fine exmaple of what it will mean "when Iraqis stand up for themselves" as Bush*co has made inevitable.

21. It's because Frat-boy is so far removed from reality. He's become like Saddam in one way...
he's told only what he wants to hear.

I think Frat-boy truly has no idea that the police and security forces are filled with insurgents.

22. "the police and security forces are filled with insurgents"
as stated in the video, these groups have real power, so much so that the still "normal" parts of the police don't dare to investigate death squad murders.

Sad sad state of affairs.

And I can only wonder how much of the arms that are being distributed to the security forces falls in the wrong hands like that.

Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 09:17 AM by BelgianMadCow
just imagine, even if in a moment *poof* like that the US presence was gone, and with it the hatred it is fueling, there will be violence raining down from the US-powered death squads for years to come.

The choices for an exit strategy are between cholera and the plague (don't know the correct saying) leaving a country in such a terrible state or making it worse by staying.

25. Reminds me of a 60 Minutes episode a couple years ago
An Iraqi businessman was interviewed asking what he thought of the US "liberation" vs. living under Saddam.

His response was something like choosing between death and dying from cancer.

Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 11:38 AM by George Oilwellian
death squads follow. Coincidence? I think not. In essence, the Bush crime family is helping Islamic fundamentalism gain power in Iraq. How sad that our young men and women are dying for that. K&R
