dubya has a sister? I had NO idea!!

Dorothy Bush Koch, often called "Doro," (born August 18, 1959), is the daughter of the 41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush and the youngest sibling of George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States. Her other four siblings are Jeb Bush, Neil Bush, Marvin Bush, and the late Robin Bush who died of leukemia in 1953.

Since the time of her childhood, Dorothy has spent most summers and holidays at the Bush Compound, a sprawling estate in Kennebunkport, Maine.

In 1975, during a visit to Beijing, (it is said) Dorothy became the first person publicly baptized in China since its government began discouraging foreign religious practices in 1949.

Dorothy attended Miss Porter's School and earned a B.A. from Boston College in 1982. She has two children, Sam and Ellie, by her first husband, William LeBlond, and two children, Robert and Gigi, by her second husband, Robert P. Koch, whom she married in June 1992 at Camp David. Koch was a former aide to House Democratic leader Richard Gephardt. Koch is a lobbyist and President of the Wine Institute of California. <1> Through this position Koch has garnered a substantial equity interest in CENTRAL EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTION CORP., the company that manufactures and distributes vodka in Poland. <2> The value of that company has increased tenfold since GW Bush became President and this franchise was developed.

6. Come ON people, you know nothing about her yet already trash her...
... because she's a Bush family member!

I also hate how people love to equate somebody's unusual appearance (Kathy Harris for example) as indicative of their politics, or vice versa.

Good God! Grow the hell up... this is grade school crap.

12. No this is an evil evil family
that has done more to destroy this country than any other dynasty in our history. And I find it incredibly interesting that this sister has stayed out of the limelight.

13. I know something about her....
She went over to Al Gore's house during the 2000 so-called recount and stood outside with the protestors who were screaming "Get Out of Cheney's House." She said it made her feel good to be do that. That tells me all I need to know about her.

This is not a family of "innocents." While it is certainly possible that a famiy of jackals somehow produced a "Mother Theresa," that is certainly a rare phenomenon...

17. have you ever listened to her on any of her televised interviews?
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 10:43 AM by flordehinojos
she is every bit as arrogant as all of the rest of the bushes are--and getting her to give any kind of answer to any question is like pulling teeth out of her mouth. She is so defensive. or passive aggressive so much of the time! She was in miami this weekend for the miami book fair.

:puke: :puke: :puke:

She was to have appeared recently on chris matthews show to promote her most recent book (which, also is, i suspect, why she was in miami this weekend: to promote her book) and i can't recall exactly what happened the evening she was to have appeared on hardball, but she was a no show.

if you have ever listened to her, you'll realize that the woman sounds moronic -- just like her moran of a brother.

Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 11:35 AM by devilgrrl
after the divorce was final, he was all of a sudden busted with all these drugs in his possesion... :wow:

It was awhile ago but I knew something slimy was behind it. Wonder if the ex has been "suicided" since.

26. We know quite a bit about her, actually, and she's every bit as evil as the rest.
Maybe you should learn more, yourself, before accusing others of ignorance.

As for her appearance, she has only genetics to blame for that.

4. She just wrote a book, too.
"My Father, My President" about H.W.

Next time you're in a bookstore check it out--the pictures of Jeb in the 70's are high-larious.

Here's an amazon link:

28. Not really.
"her second husband, Robert P. Koch, whom she married in June 1992 at Camp David. Koch was a former aide to House Democratic leader Richard Gephardt."

It sounds like she married a democrat. But then again, I'm one of them who didn't know she even exists.

15. very interesting . . .
We all know Repbulicans don't care much for the environment, and now we're chopping down trees to give more praise to a man whose son's ambition is paid for with American lives. Why was this book written? Are trhe Bush-Kochs suddenly strapped for cash?

The book, if you can focus on a father and daughter that aren't dripping with wealth and power, is good enough. I like GHWB, voted for him, but the lovefest is going way overboard.

And as for the $500 billion dollar aircraft carrier (the tenth and final Nimitz-class supercarrier) just commisioned and named after George, Sr---it was absolutely wrong to do so. The man CVN-77 should have been named after is Admiral James B. Stockdale. Admiral Stockdale, a distinguished naval aviator and test pilot flight instructor, flew over 240 carrier-based missions, earned 28 combat decorations, and after being shot down over North Vietnam in 1965, spent 8 years as a P.O.W., 4 years in leg irons, 2 years in complete darkness, tortured and beaten daily. It is amazing that he didn't go blind after 2 years in darkness, malnourished and sleeping on concrete. Despite all of his pain, his primary concern was always the welfare of his fellow prisoners and that they received enough food and proper medical care. Stockdale even organized a hunger strike when one prisoner was denied medical treatment. At one point, he knew that one of his fellow P.O.W.s was guilty of an infraction that would possibly lead to that prisoner's execution. His captors knew Stockdale knew who the guilty prisoner was, and tortured Stockdale without mercy. Knowing there would be more torture and fearful he would crack and give out the prisoner's name, Stockdale attempted suicide. Rather than bear the thought of one of his fellow prisoners being executed or subjected to the pain that was inflicted on him, he tried to take his own life. Stockdale's suicide attempt was unsuccessful, yet in the attempt, was the ultimate statement about Admiral James B. Stockdale, that he would rather have died than see a fellow American soldier suffer pain or death at the hands of their captors. That maybe true about GHWB, but perhaps not so about our current President. Adwarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1976, Admiral Stockdale died in July of 2005. Even GHWB would tell you that CVN-77 should have been named after Admiral Stockdale.

Why isn't that in your book, Doro? On October 7th, 3 days after your book was released, you christened the USS George H.W. Bush, CVN-77. It rained that day. So much so that the ceremony was closed to the public.

19. At least she didn't let the family down by dying,
like her sister Robin.

Robin was a beautiful child, who died of leukemia when she was nearly 4 years old.

At least, I presume Babs and George saw it as letting them down, because they didn't let it
put them off their golf, and never even bothered going to her funeral.
