Dishwasher confession thread
I...I...own....a dishwasher.

I had to tell someone. I've been holding the truth inside, for what seems like forever.

Please. If there are others like me, share your pain.

2. I ownED a dishwasher, until yesterday when it malfunctioned
and filled the kitchen with water, just in time to provide entertainment for the crowd of partiers my daughter had invited over for the evening. An understanding bunch, they were. Well, I looked for a new one today but I don't want to spend the money. I came home without, and will hand wash for a while. But only for a while! I'm cruel and heartless that way.

10. Check the waterfil valve, float
And the door seal. That's probaby why the water leaked. Or like an idiot, you bought the wrong kind of soap.

12. Thanks. It is the waterfill valve, in fact, although it is also not
draining. About a year ago the soap dispenser stopped working and the inside pieces started to break off. I just hate the thing now and am glad to see it go! :)

26. For my money
Kitchen Aid makes the best dishwashers, IMO. You pay more, but they are very quiet and last longer than Kenmore. Then again Kenmore are easy to fix, they have a repair kit for the water pump most of the serious parts can be bought at low cost. Thus the Kenmore is a favorite of apartment owners. All plastic parts will break in time. The clorine in the plastic leaves the plasic causing the cross bonds in the compound to fail making the plastic brittle. Stainless steel makes for a better component.

But in the end, everything wears-out, breaks or gets old. Even us.

11. You ignorant bastage!
WTF are you washing dishes when kids in Africa can't wash dishes?
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!!!!
Seriesly though...I guess saving water (a valuable resource) isn't a good enough reason to buy one for some.:eyes:
I don't own one--not because I don't want one--but because this house isn't wired for one and I don't want to do any more work to it.

13. Not only do I own a dishwasher, but also more pants and socks than the
absolute minimum necessary to be dressed 7 days a week.

And you don't want me to start talking about the iPods...

have just stayed put.

Oh I'm a bad man.

the s.o. is nominally in charge of running it and swapping the dishes.

I have no shame. :P
