All Democratic programs will fail, absent impeachment of Bush & Cheney
Without impeachment, Bush will simply veto everything the Democrats win. The recession will deepen and a Republican Congress will be chosen along with a Republican Executive in 2008.

We've got two years to impeach or see a defunct Democratic Party.

1. All of which will be the GOP's fault
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 04:01 PM by rocknation
Everything Bush vetoes will pound a nail in the GOP '08 coffin, especially if we can tie the candidate to him directly. We're on to them now.

6. Also it is our chance to get our plans out there on the floor so
people will know what we want to do after 08. We may also be able to get some items passed by just plan letting people know that they need to push their pugs harder, for example on Habeas Corpus. I did not expect to have a totally winning hand when we only control Congress. I also think that as the investigations move on it is very likely that enough will come out to justify impeachment to anyone. These are criminals we are dealing with and it is bound to be worse when we get a look under the surface.

8. Nope. They'll blame everything on Democrats. They've got the media
We've got nothing to spread our side of the story. The economy is about to collapse. The only hope is impeachment.

16. Please read this. We can force the GOP not to use the filibuster nor the veto.
I would ike you to consider my plan of action to obtain progressive legislation through the new congress beginning in 2007.

This involves a telephone campaign and an email campaign. I want you to tell others if you believe in this.

Browse http://www.dmocrats.org where you will see in blue text the vision I want to see for America and the agenda I want to see congress enact and the pResident sign. I will say this. Boycotting companies that give money to the other party does not do enough. You also need to send these emails to let them see that you act serious and that you will not buy from them until they get the other party to cooperate and allow the agenda you send to their contributors enacted. You need to get thousands of people to send these emails. You can also look up the phone numbers for these companies and call them too and make these demands.

I also have another effort to do since the congress has changed hands and that the other party will want to use the filibuster and the veto. So as well as doing the first do this as well.
You can help stop the Republicans from using the veto and the filibuster.

Go to http://www.opensecrets.org

search on the name Mitch McConnell

He will serve as the minority leader of the senate in 2007. Find his campaign contributors and list the ones that sell consumer products. Find their email addresses and phone numbers and fax numbers.
Send each of his campaign contributors the following message.

Get your CEO to tell Mitch McConnell: Do not use the filibuster nor let George W Bush use the veto or we will not buy your products ever again and we will tell everyone in this country not to buy your products.

Then tell Senator McConnell, do not use the filibuster nor allow Bush to use the veto or I will boycott your campaign contributors that sell consumer products.
You could also make these demands about the other party not using the filibuster and the veto to the companies listed on the web site http://www.dmocrats.org

Read everything I wrote and if you agree and go forth and do and tell as many people as you can.
The other party appears weak and vulnerable at the cash registers of those companies that give them money.

17. Just like Hitler didn't kill millions, right? What if the Germans had impeached?

How many lives would they have saved. Bush is a mass murderer. Those who oppose impeachment are his accomlices.

2. It doesn't work that way.
Bush cannot politically afford to repeatedly veto legislation that has vaguely bipartisan support.

Furthermore, your linking of impeachment to implementation of a political program is, quite frankly, disturbing.

3. If you think about it, Impeachment would accomplish a multitude of things
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 04:06 PM by orpupilofnature57
Slow the funneling of power and money to the 1% ,just by the process of Impeachment , it would convey to the world our remorse and the fact that a gun of sorts was held to our heads. To regain the stature we enjoyed before shrub slid in the back door via his brothers state. It is the Democrats duty to Impeach if only to make a Menes for letting continuity take precedence over Duty.

9. There are reasons and results. Without impeachement there are only reasons
Reasons don't get votes. It will be a Republican landslide in 08 if we don't impeach.

7. . . .A Pres gets credit (and blame) for legislation passed on their "watch" . .
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 05:16 PM by pat_k
. . .so if the Dems do get anything passed signing statements or the veto pen, they'll just be helping to make Bush look good.

You need look no further than the blame Clinton gets for the things the Republican Congress blocked.

Most voters don't actually give Congress much thought.

Appeasing fascists never pays off.

12. No, it's not impeachment that's the priority.
It's finding out what really happened on 9/11. We all need to know who really did this terrible thing. The government's official conspiracy does not hold water. If the truth is revealed, I strongly suspect impeachment will directly follow from the investigation.

Let's get the new Congress to investigage, SIGN THIS PETITION!

If impeachment closes in on bush, cheney will retire, bush will name a hot repuke '08 contender as vp, and then bush will resign.
