Something cool that Xerox Is doing for the Holidays!

If you go to this website, www.letssaythanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it, and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq.

You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!This is a great site.

Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...

8. Sorry, I don't like this idea

It's very 'corporate' and impersonal.

....reminds me of the 'astroturf' letters-to-the-editor of a few years ago.

THIS does give me the idea/prompts me to ask the principal at my children's school tomorrow if the students can take a 1/2 hour and write a GENUINE Christmas/Holiday card/letter to send to the troops. (Lord knows that there are enough cheap car magnets on their parents' cars saying "Support the Troops" at pick-up time....so the school shouldn't have a 'problem' with this idea).

The best thanks we could send the troops would be to cut through the politic-ing, get them out of that hell on earth that Bush created, provide them veterans benefits with no hassles, and hold Bush et al. accountable for deceiving the country into this illegal military action.

Sending a card through this site to say "thanks" seems to imply that one buys into the deception that Iraq had WMD, was involved in 9/11 and was an imminent threat to the U.S.

14. I think that's a bit of a stretch

I chose a blank one, and said "hurry home" and "God Bless". My nephew just returned from a year of hell over there. He knows exactly what the war is about AND he's a Democrat, who was praying the Dems won the midterms (and in 2004). In fact, upon his return, I learned a lot that I almost wish I hadn't learned.

Sending a card says exactly what it says - I wouldn't have sent one that said "thank you for protecting our freedoms" or anything like that, but "hurry home" seemed decent to me.

My heart breaks for the soldiers over there who shouldn't be there, and don't want to be there, it breaks for all the dead, and forever changed people, both American and Iraqi, and I sent a card in about 45 seconds to one of the people stationed in that hellhole, saying "hurry home". It really doesn't need to be any more complicated than that.

A woman called in on the Stephanie Miller show one day last week and mentioned the site so I decided to take a look and I was blown away. In a nutshell, this site has a list of troops who have requests for letters and/or care packages and you can send them stuff.

Some of the requests are fun (his/her favorite candy, magazines, books, etc) but some requests can be frustrating or downright infuriating because they shouldn't have to be asking strangers for this stuff (tampons, soap, body armor...BODY ARMOR??? :grr:).

Some of the soldiers post photos and describe what's going on. It's an addicting site.

Want to do something for a soldier?

Be the guy to walk up to one and say,

"Pack your gear Pal, I'm your relief."

And if you are unable to do that, than just do your best to get him/her brought back home.
