"V" Strikes Again
“V” Makes A Mark In DC

“V” is helping us as we build support for the unalienable Right to a Response from Government to our Petitions for Redress of Grievances regarding the Government’s violation of the war powers, tax, privacy and money clauses of the Constitution. “V” is helping us as we educate the public about the First Amendment’s guarantee of our Right to Petition Government for Redress of Grievances.

On November 6, 2006, a lone man in a “V” mask and clothing visited security checkpoints at the White House, the main Treasury Building, the Department of Justice and the Capitol, to deliver a letter and the Petitions for Redress. A short videotape of the encounters has made its way around the Internet, including links from sites such as MySpace.com.

The letter informed the leaders of the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government that up to 100 people in “V” masks and clothing would gather in silent vigil at those locations on November 14th to await a response to the Petitions for Redress.

True to his word, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, nearly 100 men and women in “V” masks and clothing could be seen walking along different streets in downtown Washington, DC, all heading to Lafayette Park across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House.

2. Brilliant
It symbolizes the power that the people have.

I like the crescendo affect. Brilliantly designed.

3. Cool, but I am not sure about the We the People group
Their main objective is to get rid of the federal income tax. They say that it is unconstitutional. I say, where else would the government get their money from to invest in our future? No federal income tax would mean that the rich get richer.

11. No answers, no taxes
It seems to me that they are saying "if there is no transparency and no accountability of our tax dollars are being spend, then you just don't get those tax dollars at all."

But income taxes appear to be Constitutional. They ameneded the Constitution to make it so. 16th Amendment.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

16. You mean the rich aren't getting richer now?
Where did you get that idea?

What's the point of first paying people money and then take part of it away again? It's simpler (and less costly) to not give that part in the first place, but rather to spend it right away on social service and the common good.

10. I love the concept, design, etc.
I'm not so sure about the no taxes part.

I've seen the stuff about how taxes aren't really necessary, it's all a horrible scheme, etc.

But some kind of tithing has always been necessary to help the poor and maintain infrastructure . . . if we could really dispense with that, should also dispense with all my other charitable donations? But I'm pretty sure things would be worse if I stopped; some needs don't just go away if you ignore them.

15. "no taxes" conditionally;
"no answers, no taxes".

This has nothing to do with "taxes aren't really necessary, it's all a horrible scheme".

12. I don't get the V worship
Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 03:48 AM by spoony
that I've seen in countless threads over the last few months. V is a cruel, maniacal terrorist thug, as was his inspiration Guy Fawkes. He is not a hero, he is a portrait of how corruption robs people of not only freedom but also humanity.
