Massachusetts governor holds bigoted anti-gay rally outside the State House
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 11:34 PM by Bluebear
Gay marriage is the law of the Commonwealth, Mr. Romney. This stunt today was nothing but a chance to collect more bigoted credentials for your right wing fundy campaign trail. Don't let the Statehouse door hit you on your carpetbagging ass on your way out of Massachusetts. SHAME.

Supporters of gay marriage defended lawmakers' procedural move.

"One of the tenets of the Constitution is that you do not put the rights of a minority up for a popularity contest," said Mark Solomon, campaign director of Mass Equality, a pro-gay marriage group. "It is one of the very principles this country was founded upon."

17. I was going to say that Mitt forgot his hood.
Pandering to bigots is the lowest form of campaigning for President.

10. Someone should track down the bigots in this crowd and add
their names to this image.

Don't let them hide behind their anonymity.

14. I'm still trying to figure out
how it's "judicial activism" when the Mass SC orders the state to give same sex couples equal marriage rights, but it's NOT "judicial activism" when you petition the Mass SC to take the extraordinary step of ordering an anti gay measure to be put on a statewide ballot referendum.

16. Tell you what, Mitt...
when gays have the right to decide whether or not heterosexuals can marry, then heterosexuals can decide whether or not gays can marry. That sounds fair to me. Let's just try it for a few years, ok? Let's be subject to the sanctimonious whims of people who are not like us, but who are able to dictate what we may, or may not do. After all, turn about is fair play, and all of that stuff. What do you say about that, Mitt?
