One World - The Nations Online Project
Somehow in a google search I stumbled across the wonderful website and wanted to share it with DU. TONS of info on any country including news sources, cities, int'l codes, currencies and much more. (Mods, not sure if this is the correct forum, move if necessary.)

http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/index.html

But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth.
Bob Marley —— Get Up Stand Up

In the Beginning...
We are all passenger on this very old spaceship called Earth.
With our birth we've got a ticket for a relatively short but bodacious journey, and, remember in a little while there is a time you will be ask to give your token back.

The time in between is an adventure called live. An adventure full of experience, an adventure of learning, of knowledge, of love and accordance, but also an adventure of pain, misunderstanding and misconception, and an adventure of trial and error.

Before mankind, the ship "Earth" was maintained solely by cosmic forces, today humankind partially took control, some succeed, some failed.
With your ticket you've also acquired the written permission to succeed--in the name of Men and Earth.

Statement
The Nations Online Project - is, among other things, a more or less objective guide to the world, a statement for the peaceful, nonviolent coexistence of nations.

A statement in favour of cultural diversity and the free flow of information and knowledge across national, cultural and religious boundaries.

The challenge and task of the civilized world is and will be, to find equally civilized solutions to its problems.

Mission
We define globalization as the free access to global information!
The mission of this portal is to give you access to online information about the immense potential of creative power of the cultures of Earth, to views, visions and knowledge of humankind.

The central issue is to lead your attention to the best mankind has been able to create on its pathway from prehistoric times to today and, hopefully, to tomorrow, to give you possibilities to choose from and find solutions to your tasks. At the heart of mankind's very successful evolution over millions of years is co-operation, not rivalry.
Today this co-operation is more needed than ever to avoid that this planet will be irreparably damaged.

1. That looks like a nice site.

The people who want to just think about their own selfish interests - need to see that it is in their selfish interests for people to be co-operative and look for and agree to solutions. Instead of everyone doing whatever the hell they want. That's not going to work. It may have "worked" (for some people) when there was lots of space and an abundance of resources. It's not going to work now.

The Republicans are the model of selfishness on a large scale - but Libertarians advocate for selfishness on an individual scale.

And it's the liberals and the socialists (like Bernie Sanders) who are looking for solutions. It's no surprise that those who don't want to cooperate have to bash liberals.

2. Free information... jippieh
Very nice site!!

I bookmarked that one right away.

In the future whenever I read an article I'll pick the specific country and read the local media opinion on the topic.

Free information for free people who are free to decide what they read.
